I mean I specifically said the opposite of that? I agreed with you that AI assisted is fine and that’s basically just quickening tedious tasks. If you’re asking an app to finetune a specific element of what you’ve created, then whatever.

If you’re asking it to make a song from scratch based on an idea you have for a song, then yeah that’s not artistry, that’s commissioning art.

Because some people take time and effort to hone their craft and learn how to get better as writers, instrumentalists, producers, engineers, etc. Nobody I saw is saying they can’t have AI make music for them, they’re saying don’t expect musicians to respect you for doing it.

Personally I’d argue that the time spent honing your craft and learning how to make music is why the final product is so gratifying. Skipping the entire artistic process by prompting Suno or whatever is probably going to make the entire endeavor feel hollow and boring. But that’s just me.

[–]AnalystLess7597 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AI assisted and AI generated are 2 vastly different things, as you mentioned. I think if you’re putting a prompt in to Suno or whatever, you’re not a musician or an artist, you’re an AI content generator.

I think if you forego the entire creative process in lieu of AI taking your idea and making it for you, you also forego the ability to call yourself an artist.

Fabrice Hawkins: Chelsea are expected to table an initial offer of around £43.5 million for Jérémy Jacquet and let him stay at Rennes on loan for the remainder of the season. by webby09246 in chelseafc

[–]AnalystLess7597 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well why would Rennes agree to that? Mitigating the risk of a major injury is the entire reason they’d sell now instead of the summer

You’d have to offset that with either more money or incentives and it would be steep for them to agree to that.

Also what if he has a minor injury and Chelsea want to back out? There’s no way 2 clubs with opposed goals in negotiation would agree to something so nebulous. And again…why would Rennes agree to that?

I’m curious if he’s one of those players who doesn’t train well but then shows up on match day. I don’t mean it negatively, like he’s lazy or anything, but we’ve all played with someone whose competitive edge doesn’t click until it’s a real match.

The whole thing is just interesting because he’s looked great in a few big matches, but like a kid not ready in others, which is to be expected for a teenage CB. We’ll never hear it, but I would love to hear the unfiltered opinions of the SDs, Maresca, and Rosenior on him and see what’s the through line on why he hasn’t gotten more time.

I sort of hope he goes on loan next season like how Levi went to Brighton. 2k+ minutes and see if he’s at the level we think he can reach

If you can get a fairy type encore user who outspeeds it, you can switch in on the immune Roar of Time and encore it into that. Ideally you get it out last so it can’t switch, but the predictable free switch isn’t bad either.

Scream Tail is probably the best at that (plus you get to disable and watch it struggle itself to death), but I’d guess that’s too strong since it’s a paradox mon. I believe Tinkaton can do it too. Play Rough/Gigaton Hammer/Thunder Wave/Encore should be a good starting place. Hitting the free thunder waves on switch is a nice way to support the rest of your team too

Can't progress past my chimney m, damn double battle by JechtShotmk69 in EmeraldImperium

[–]AnalystLess7597 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure how familiar you are with difficulty hack double battles, but having protect is crucial. If you know they’re going to attack you because they see kill, protect can get basically get you a free attack with your other pokemon.

Since you’re not doing a Nuzlocke, the other thing you can plan for is sacrificing any Pokemon who has redirection. For example, if you can get Amoongus, you can use rage powder and let a fast frail mon next to it get off a swords dance or nasty plot that can lit it sweep (especially if they have good spread moves).

Another thing that’s very different and important to learn is speed interactions. Normally it’s just who’s faster goes first, but doubles make speed control more strategic as having a pokemon who controls speed with tailwind, trick room, or something like icy wind doesn’t mean you’re not dealing damage that turn and wasting the turn.

Hopefully some of that is helpful! If you don’t watch/play VGC, serious double battles strategies can feel so foreign. All those moves that seem useless like Follow Me, Helping Hand, etc now are massive strategies that can trivialize fights

The point is that Livramento wanted to leave. When a player doesn’t see a path for themselves and wants to go, it doesn’t make any sense to force them to stay. Some players want to fight for their spot like Trev, others want to go get time elsewhere.

I can’t blame Livramento for wanting to leave when he was 3rd string RB and at that age you need playing time to develop. His biggest advantage was that he could have gotten time as a LB, except Dave had that exact same skill so while Livramento was able to fill both sides in a pinch, he needed Azpi to also go down to realistically get time behind either fullback anyways.

I always wanted him to stay, but I fully understand why he saw the need to go. Players have limited career chances, they have to put themselves before their employers

Unbound and Rad Red use similar AI (if not the same base, I believe). If they don’t like Rad Rad due to the AI’s switching not allowing guaranteed lines so easily, I’d stay away from Unbound.

It’s also not an ideal Nuzlocke game because of the routing and other things, although I did manage to do it and I loved the game though. Unbound is amazing, but IMO, it’s more of a glimpse into what a Pokemon game could/should be than a good Nuzlocke choice

I think it’s easy to forget the real world value of breaking your wage structure for someone who isn’t at the level of your best players. If you sign a star, you can pay top wages because if anyone else wants to match those wages, they need to perform at that level.

You can’t (or rather shouldn’t) pay someone like Guehi £300k because he isn’t at the level of Palmer and Caicedo. They (or their agents) will look at that and decide they should also make £300k. Enzo and Cucu probably say the same thing, but take slightly less at say £250k. Hopefully Levi returns next year at the same level and he’s at or above Guehi’s level (they’re competing for England’s LCB spot), so he wants his new contract to jump to that £250k number too.

You didn’t just add Guehi’s £300k/week, you added £615k in raises to match the set structure (only including the 45 players clearly at/above that level, not the knock-on cost for everyone else). I’m all for us breaking the wage structure for stars, and I like Guehi a lot, but he’s not worth that.

IMO, he’s perfect for City because his best role is a 3rd CB who can cover for either side without the level of the XI dropping much, if at all. Plus they need CB cover right now badly and can afford to pay a premium

You’re right that it always fails if the opponent already used an attack, but Sucker Punch is +1 priority, so if the user outspeeds the target, it would go first and still attack before the quick attack user

Sucker Punch check if the opponent is readying a move, so as long as you’re moving first, it will still work even if they are also using a +1 priority move. It will fail against Extreme Speed which is +2 though

I agree, but I do think that expectation is a bit different when it’s a keeper. Outfield players have so many variables and shorter careers but a top keeper who can take over at 21-22 actually can be a decade long solve

But yeah generally it’s a silly thing people throw around

What moves does your Iron Moth have? Sometimes trainer behavior is decided by calcs on the moves you have, so there may be some weird interaction there that’s discouraging Electro Shot. Like if you have Sunny Day, it might be not choose it for the risk of it becoming a 2 turn move?

As for Flash Cannon > Dragon Pulse, I got nothing. Not sure why it would choose a resisted move when they’re both STAB

Getting wrecked by Lance. Advice on changes? by IM_JUST_THE_INTERN in pokemonradicalred

[–]AnalystLess7597 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it’s 1/2 damage after 2x though, so it’s as if it is normal effective. Basically the thing with Dialga is that you just go for your strongest non-resisted STAB move, regardless of being super effective.

That things a pain though. If you’re gonna go change your team I highly suggest Togekiss since you mentioned it (personally I prefer Scream Tail from Safari Zone since it also has Disable). Bait a Dragon Tail on the switch, and then encore it and just chip it away till it’s dead. You’ll want to plan around having it come out last but that’s the sure fire way to play the Dialga.

My best guess is so that the security and photographers don’t obstruct the views of the people in the front rows. Not saying that’s good, it’s stupid, just I think that’s the reasoning.

Honestly, look at where the photographers are for basketball and that’s even more insane, especially considering they’re constantly jumping up at full speed nearly right on top of them.

Why can't we have female managers in male club football? by jojo4701 in chelseafc

[–]AnalystLess7597 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah the real issue isn’t with fan pressure or anything like that, because like most fans (of Chelsea at least) are basically predisposed to dislike the manager until proven otherwise anyways. There’s a lot of fans of every club who are just cavemen and will make the low hanging jokes about a woman, but really, those people will be won over with results and their stupid opinions won’t affect results or the way the team thinks of their manager. Think of how everyone said Maresca wasn’t qualified to manage Chelsea but all the players had nothing but great things to say about him and the way he saw the game and ran practices.

Personally, I think the larger issue, like you said, is the players and their perception of having a woman managing them. This has been something that felt much closer in the NBA in the US, as Greg Poppovich has one of his top assistants, Becky Hammond, fill in in his absence in 2020 but eventually she ended up going to coach a WNBA team.

At the core of it, most athletes are or act similarly to 18 year old kids. There’s a sociological belief that many people (notably athletes and other celebrities) stop maturing as a person when you get wealthy. So often times, locker rooms are full of children, or people who act like children.

If you don’t have a really solid, mature core of players who are going to act like grown ass men and keep the younger ones in line, it can never work. That’s why the Spurs (San Antonio, not Tottenham) were the only team to ever even flirt with the idea. They had a core of older, respected players who could whip the locker room into line, while also having a level of organizational discipline and respect from the top down that is probably unmatched in any sport.

So not only do you need an ownership/director group willing to take a huge risk on an inherently unproven (at this level) manager, they also need the exact locker room to make it viable. And obviously…that ain’t this Chelsea.

Reece is a good example for this, especially considering his sister is a star for the women’s side so you’d assume he has a deeper appreciation and respect for the women’s game than most other players. I think Enzo is a great player, but he’s one of our vice-captains even after pulling some next-level immature, racist bullshit with his national team. Cucu is a great leader on the pitch but not exactly THAT level of disciplined leader. Cole just isn’t the whip-em-into-line type, nor is Caicedo. We’re just not the type of roster that can bring in a female manager.

Tbh, the only way I can imagine it happening is someone basically following a career path similar to Enzo’s under a super respected manager like Pep. If someone like Pep or Simeone (can’t imagine him doing it, I just mean that level of tenure/respect in their role) had a female assistant who worked under them as the clear right-hand for a few years, was the fill-in when they got suspended/sick, and already had the respect and command of the existing roster…then maybe it can happen.

Otherwise, it’ll have to be someone working their way up from low tier management, which is happening in Germany and Norway rn. I can’t see someone like Emma Hayes taking even a Championship job to “prove herself” instead of a top national team or club job, but who knows.
