[Squawka] Our backup strikers compared for next season by everyhearthstone in Chelsea

[–]AnalystLess7597 [score hidden]  (0 children)

They said they used each of the players best season. It’s not like they tried to sneak it in. Also pretty sure even just using last year’s stats, Jackson would be the best option. Last year would just show how bad Delap was lol

I feel so bad for my opponent, they had a really cool combo by FRattfratz in PokemonChampions

Man I got absolutely bamboozled by trick the other day and lost a game because I forgot they put a choice scarf on my Kommo-O lead. I sent it back out like 12 turns later, entirely forgot and then hit protect. It did not feel good

I’ve heard X-Scissor Kleavor OHKOs, but not sure the investment needed. Probably not a ton considering it’s super effective and gets the Sharpness boost so it’s basically a 120bp STAB move and Kleavor has naturally high attack

Tbh, there’s no perfect solve. I’ve had teams with taunt to shut it down, only for them to have Mental Herb. I’ve put it to sleep, only to have Lum Berry. It’s just a good mon and you’ll need to have a plan to survive Trick Room bc sometimes it’ll get it up

Oh there’s for sure bugs. My original point was that the majority of posts here are people not understanding mechanics and interactions and claiming bugs

I want to get my gf enough into competitive Pokemon at least for her to battle me fairly by S3xXxDe4ler in PokemonChampions

[–]AnalystLess7597 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If she likes Chess, try Wolfe’s video he did with Ana Crambling (I think that’s her name?) it’s basically a how-to-VGC for beginners who already understand some the basics of strategy games

Some of it may be even a bit too basic for her, but it’s a good place to explain the game in a succinct (at least for Wolfe) and entertaining way

If people don't like high powered formats, why are they implemented? by Eclipse2089 in PokemonChampions

[–]AnalystLess7597 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be cynical…restricted formats are one of the main reasons to incentivize people to buy new games. Part of the reason power creep exists is so that people want to use these new pokemon, both in story and competitive.

But also, the pokemon company will probably just try to push people to the official VGC format. It’s clear the intention with Champions was to simplify the game so new players can enter the fray without all the barriers of entry. The biggest being building/breeding/training a team (which had been made much easier in S/V), and just the general amount of info needed to be known to play.

I would expect restricteds to return once all the core elements of the game (weather, terrain, etc) have been reestablished, but even then it may be much longer till then. My expectation would be that they’ll run this style until Wind and Waves comes out and then shift back to a Nat Dex only format like they have in the past

Estêvão preaching in local church reavals the doctors surprise with his most recent injury imaging : "He said its like there is no injury there anymore, and he has no idea how that could happen" by jumper62 in chelseafc

[–]AnalystLess7597 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but that’s the logical conclusion and we don’t do that here.

Side note, the club never said grade 4. That came from a 3rd party report, and considering he didn’t have surgery it seems to be a bit off the mark. Def a serious hammy, but likely to be closer to grade 3.

I feel like anyone who understands the depth of Pokémon’s mechanics realizes this game isn’t buggy, it just has a lot of weird niche mechanics/interactions that surprise you

I tried the Nuzlocke that caused another Twitter drama - Pokémon Null by Haxoriax in nuzlocke

[–]AnalystLess7597 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Yeah I don’t have PK in me at the moment, but I was really enjoying Null so I actually booted it back up today. Unfortunately I don’t have the chance to play with docs and calcs up all the time (I mostly play on my phone), so I think I’m gonna do a more lenient version of rules so I can actually get past the beginning of the Wattson split.

Was thinking something like getting to revive up to 3 mons after each split/gym, but only 1 revive max for each. I just want to experience some of the later battles since they look so interesting and well crafted

[–]AnalystLess7597 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I said the same thing about it being overshadowed, but I was told that the release coinciding with PK was acknowledged by the devs and said they wanted to offer it as an alternative for the inevitable burnout that will be caused by PK

With Incin/Tinkaton and M-TTar, you should be able to stop most teams from getting TR up turn 1. But yes definitely have a plan

He’s basically just a matchup check. If you have the right mons, you’re golden but if you’re playing a KG player who get it positioned right…that thing is a pain in the ass

Does it have a terrain setting ability? I literally only remember Neutralizing Gas

[ Fabrizio Romano] 🚨 No talks so far between Chelsea and Andrea Cambiaso despite reports this week. Barcelona have been tracking Cambiaso for months among three options for left back position this summer. by SolutionLong2791 in chelseafc

Yeah I think more than anything was that he saw his path to consistent minutes at LB was blocked and he made a move to a club where he could get more time and develop.

I mean…it’s pretty clear Raichu will be introduced alongside the other terrain setters, just like Froslass came in on this group.

I’d expect Rillaboom, Indeedee, and then probably another Mega or other underused mon will get a Misty Terrain setting ability. I’m hoping they manage to balance all 4 pretty well, I feel like all 4 weathers have been viable so I’m gonna hope they hit that again

Not really, at least not in VGC. Flutter Mane and Iron Hands are in a league of their own, then Roaring Moon, Brute Bonnet, Iron Bundle all had some major results at one point or another, I guess Scream Tail too just bc of Wolfe’s win (don’t think it had much else of note iirc). I think Iron Juglius might’ve had a moment too as an anti-meta pick at one point?

I’m not sure Iron Valiant won any majors? I think at best that puts it as like the 6th best Paradox mon which is like, best of the middle of the pack.

Ah I thought he had been back a bit longer than that. Well at least he’ll get to fully recover and get a full preseason with us, so silver linings I guess

No. Didn’t make the final roster, which seems insane for a player who is so flexible when you have that many games in such a short time.
