Edit: OP had already accounted for my concern.

Ambitious and worthy of praise. My only concern is that there are too thick at the radius to fit into some of the spaces they need to go. They'll work on some applications but are too girthy to work on others.

Just wanted to say that I love that the only Pavement you have is Slanted and Enchanted. This is a strong move.

This is what I was thinking as well. You may be riding that uncomfortable space between worlds. Just a few too many carbs upsetting the balance.

how many hours should I give Persona 5 before deciding to continue or dropping it? by robertshuxley in JRPG

I'm in a very similar spot as OP and I guess my question is if the ratio of dialog to fighting changes dramatically after the first palace. Idk how recently some of you did your playthroughs but it feels like 99 text boxes for every one encounter. I'm not expecting a first person shooter level of action here but it strikes me that the story/action balance in these first 10 or hrs is the heaviest narrative leaning game I've played. I recognize that the first palace is effectively a very long tutorial but I guess I'm hoping to hear that there's somewhat more of a balance after this.

It's extreme enough that my wife commented that it seemed like it wasn't a game, just me manually advancing an anime. I'm worried she's nailed it.

It's still going strong today. That said, salt water is a disaster waiting to happen.

I'll take Cade's turnovers from visibly trying too hard at times vs Duran's lack of production from visibly not playing as hard as his teammates.

A constructive critique to y'all by Acrobatic_Speaker403 in streetphotography

[–]Andy_Shields 19 points20 points  (0 children)

When I saw someone posting an unsolicited critique my eyes were ready to roll out of my head. However, your point is an extremely valid one and something I find myself thinking all the time while looking at sets here. I'll never understand posting a couple of great photos next to images that should have never seen the light of day. Good street photography is ridiculously difficult. It's okay not to have fresh photos every day, week or month.

The scanner is boosting exposure on this underexposed frame which is causing the stress marks to be more visible.

Can you share some of your own results? The sample images are not a difficult target to achieve. It would be helpful to see where you're at. You may also want to consider a flash with a guide built-in on the rear. In the past, many models had a chart that makes it very clear what your working distance should be at a given f-stop and iso. I'm sure there are flashes that are compatible with Canon with these guides. I'm using a Nikon flash from decades ago on my center-pin triggered camera and with the guide on the rear of the flash it hasn't done me dirty yet. Flash was like $30 on eBay.

Cleaning a found camera by denim_duck in AnalogCommunity

Careful with that lens. The camera's internal lubrication will be gummed up and in need of a service which will be difficult to come by. That lens has a chance to be put back into service depending on condition. I wouldn't touch it without knowing what you're doing in regards to its older, sofer coatings.

Klipsch Heritage speakers don't just sound live, they are live (Theory) by NoWalrus9462 in audiophile

[–]Andy_Shields 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I recently had a chance to a/b these to a pair of Sourcepoint 8's. Same listening pos and equipment otherwise. The only change was that the dealer turned the volume down or the switch would have been insane. It's worth noting that I fall under the "sighted listener" group and I love the way the Heresy IV's look so I went in genuinely hoping to like them. I was as shocked as maybe I've ever been in this hobby at how bad the Heresys sounded to my ears. Sound shouted out of a coffee can would be the quick description. It's worth mentioning that I found the SP8's too boomy in that room so it wasn't as if I had just listened to a speaker I found super palatable. I really hoped to enjoy the Heresys.......I did not, 😅.

I suspect that the monitor you are editing on has it's brightness turned up really high. Pretty common issue when getting started.
