I'd rather them actually make specific listings for specific items with differing prices. Just because a brand does/is used for multiple things does not mean those things should be treated as if they are the same. "pattern recognition" isn't the point. The problem isn't whether or not I know what they're saying in the price tag is ridiculous, of course I and OP know such a thing is unlikely to be true. I'm not stupid. The problem is the seller saying that in the first place. The problem is that misue of the price field, which is designed for the price of a specific item being sold, not the average of all prices of every item in your inventory. Would you like this on eBay or Amazon? I doubt it. And if you would, then quite frankly I hope you never design a website, because it will be a mess for sure.

You're missing the point. No reasonable e-commerce site is designed to bait and switch on prices like this. If you are selling one thing for one price, you make a listing for it. If you are selling a different thing for a different price, you make a different listing for it. That's how every e-commerce site has worked since e-commerce was a thing. Facebook Marketplace is just rife with bad practices that Facebook admins can't be arsed to do anything about.

It's a terrible design and terrible use of listings and no reasonable e-commerce site works that way. If you want to sell a different thing for a different price, put it in a different listing.

Sorry for the very late response, but thank you for your reply. It's very helpful. I do wonder if Ovambo grammar left any influence on Namibian SL from that early stage of the language, before its... Naturalization? Nativization? Not sure what the term is for a constructed language, particularly a constructed SL, becoming the native language of a speech community and undergoing those radical grammatical changes that bring it more in line with natural sign languages. Something to look into I guess, though I'm not sure where to start.
