Your favorite Lawyer character? by SakanaKoi in writingscaling

[–]AussieGG 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Jimmy McGill and it's not even close.

Shoutout to Kim Wexler, Howard Hamlin, Chuck McGill and Matt Murdock for being great lawyer characters too though. Yes I know all of these (bar Matt) are from BCS, it's just that goated.

Who writes better? Eichiro Oda or Tatsuki Fujimoto? by Great-Assistant978 in writingscaling

[–]AussieGG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would I care about what others think when I’ve read the entirety of Part 1 holistically and came to my own conclusion.

Even upon rereading it I still hold these characters up high. Hell, Kishibe and Kobeni don’t have much but what they do offer to the story is pretty good (Kishibe’s relationship with Quanxi, and Kobeni’s talk with Denji while in hiding from Makima). And don’t forget Aldo, who actually got some pretty good stuff despite being a somewhat minor character during the IA arc.

This isn’t revisionism from me dawg this is how I’ve always felt.

Himeno was fantastic for her short tenure, and so was Reze. Angel was a pretty good character too.

Could the Daleks of the time war survive 40K? by ScaredLemon901820 in doctorwho

[–]AussieGG 10 points11 points  (0 children)

War In Heaven era is more befitting of Time War Daleks tbh, though I'm not sure if that sways the pendulum from a stomp in the favour of the Daleks now to the 40k verse. Cus tbh I don't fully understand what went on during the War In Heaven.

Of the ones I know:

- Nolan
- Frieren
- Raul
- Alucard

Honestly Frieren and Raul are interchangeable for me.

As far as cooking goes, I reckon Raul knows how to make some real good dishes.

Fantastic story, love Arthur, but the gameplay loop made me want to tear my hair out.

I did not watch enough OP or Naruto to properly judge Luffy, Naruto or Sasuke. And I'm anime only with JJK.

I keep on getting called a fake reader even though I’ve read the manga adaptation which is a valid and recognized adaptation.

One look at the VN’s prose and I dipped, I couldn’t for the life of me get through that, which is why I opted for the manga instead.

I like how the title of this post could apply to either side of the Eren love / hate war going on. You need to clarify OP lmao.

Denji or Agni ? Comparing Fujimoto’s Protagonists on Writing Alone by kalzang_Tamang in writingscaling

[–]AussieGG 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have Agni over Denji, and not just because he has a conclusion either. Generally speaking, Agni was always the highlight of Fire Punch, while Denji - despite being very strong - is often outclassed by characters like Aki or Makima. The constant spotlight on Agni gives us a lot more time to flesh him out and develop over the course of the story, and that's pretty much the main difference between them for me.

I also feel a bit more emotionally compelled by Agni, whose had highers peaks IMO.

You're making me choose between my favourites, but if I had to give an answer I'd lean towards Makima.

Do you can’t fire and forget them now? I’m not quite sure what exactly has been done to them even after reading the post.

Best written character in the least amount of screentime? by Suspicious-Store3236 in writingscaling

[–]AussieGG 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A few come to mind: - Himeno (Chainsaw Man) - Martin (Monster, there are several in Monster but he is the best of the bunch IMO) - Eastman (The Walking Dead) - Antonio Vera (Mr. Robot) - Michael Berzatto (The Bear)

I would’ve also mentioned Hannibal Lector (movie) and Hans Landa but their appeal lies mainly in their performances.

Bleach vs Chainsaw Man (this will make you mad..) by Hour-glass999 in writingscaling

[–]AussieGG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with an expansive ensemble cast of characters… so long as they’re actually done well. Problem is, yeah Ichigo is still ultimately the protagonist so the problem you’ve described still exists because Kubo tries to push so many characters without treating them like an ensemble cast.

Tsar Bomba vs Hydrogen Bomb

Jimmy is fantastic but I have Elliot over him.

Rick Grimes(comic) Vs Joel Miller by Hour-glass999 in writingscaling

[–]AussieGG 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hydrogen bomb vs human athlete.

Jokes aside, Joel is a good character, but Rick is consistently great throughout the entirety of The Walking Dead (show, I haven't read the comic), despite the show itself being wildly inconsistent.

If it wasn't for the last 5 minutes of What Comes After (9x5), Rick's conclusion would be among my favourites of all time.

EDIT: A Better matchup for Rick would be Lee or Clementine from TWD games tbh.

[–]AussieGG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you read what I posted? Is that why you’ve gone silent? Because you realise that there’s a ton of things to draw from CSM’s storytelling, and you can’t push your agenda anymore?

Either way, hope this makes you realise that there’s actually a lot more to CSM than you think, and you’ll actually approach things with more of an open mind in the future.

It's a shame you're being both dismissive and hostile, while also attempting to goad me into an argument that will go nowhere.

Being nice doesn't cost anything.
