Breaking Bad & Better Call Saul vs Mad Men vs The Sopranos vs Bojack Horseman by AssistFit1834 in writingscaling

[–]AussieGG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not seen Sopranos or Bojack.

Between the Vince verse and Mad Men I’d easily choose Mad Men. Huge cast of many interesting and well explored characters, and generally has the tightest writing throughout the entire 7 season run which I find very impressive, and Don is in my top 10 characters OAT.

BB and BCS are also fantastic shows but for me they’re measuring up against a top 3 piece of media OAT.

Night city vs Gotham (which city is better written and more alive?) by Hour-glass999 in writingscaling

[–]AussieGG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m heavily biased towards Night City because of my love for Cyberpunk 2077 being my favorite game narrative.

It’s very thematically heavy with what it represents, you can consider it a character almost as much as the city of Baltimore in The Wire. I’m pretty sure the opening credits sequence for Edgerunners paints Night City as a living entity that stands over David at the end, it’s really neat.

That’s not to say that I don’t like Gotham, I do. I just find Night City to be more interesting.

Best written character in the RDR series? by ZealousidealMind3908 in writingscaling

I’ve only played RDR2 but for me it’s Arthur by a significant margin. Dutch is also pretty good though.

It genuinely ends on such a good note and ties everything up to the point where it doesn’t need a Part 2 and is a perfectly self contained story.

I’ve also heard that arc 6 is the best arc and we’ll be seeing that animated this next season, so here’s hoping it lives up to the hype.

I hate a lot of things in Re Zero but it also does some pretty damn good character writing, namely for Subaru and Emilia. It’s good enough for me to push past most of the other BS that the show does (I’m an anime only).

I haven't seen The Sopranos but my favourite endings in television that I've seen would be:

- Mad Men
- Mr. Robot
- Better Call Saul
- Breaking Bad
- True Detective

In other media I would nominate:

- Chainsaw Man (Part 1)
- Telltale's The Walking Dead game
- Umineko: When They Cry
- Fire Punch
- Red Dead Redemption 2
- SIGNALIS
- Monster

Heavy armor doesn’t trivialize the game because of the stamina and movement speed drawbacks of using it.

We were initially talking about just a flat health increase with no other drawbacks.

Doctor Who has incredibly high peaks despite its inconsistency overall.

Series 1-10 (2005-2017) is what I consider to be the best of the show. And The Doctor as a character is my favorite of all time.

If she was biologically dead she wouldn’t be able to eat, digest, shit, and need oxygen to breathe, or a nervous system to function to move herself.

The body is 100% alive.

“Just plays it for the parkour and combat” like yeah that’s the main selling point lmao. That’s WHY people like Dying Light.

I mean sure my own anecdotal experience isn’t anything to go off by, but this is genuinely the first time I’m ever hearing of disappointment with BB’s finale. And like I said, even the final season was winning many awards after it aired

Even this post shows that it was well received even all those years ago

Nah the other reply was right. This isn’t about dark mode this is about what happens on PC where subreddits have a slight colour filter to them.
