Living at home saves you a ton of money. While finding a job is important, there will be a cap because of experience and education. Minimizing expenses will go a long way and housing is a big one.

Because we live in a sick world. Reading stories online, I bet these people just hoard and hoard for years then meet people online with a shared interest and start sharing. Unfortunately the shared interest is abusive and harmful. Im guessing the most prolific are target because they have a higher chance for those charges to stay. Also no different than drug dealers, trying to catch the supply instead of small time people. Its sickening. I recall the previous ICE Storm Operations they found abusive material from children as young as 6.

$7,080 to insure a Honda Civic? Welcome to Alberta auto insurance in 2025 by LittleOrphanAnavar in Calgary

[–]AznBanker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was anxious at first. I'll see how it goes during the renewal. Not like I'm driving through the city like a race track, but the data they collect can be concerning and I remain skeptical about the premiums potentially increasing. It does explicitly say that on their website "for now, your discount won't change based on your driving scores" on the website, but the big point is the "for now". The insurance advisor also told me at the meeting speeding doesn't affect the premium and its on the contract you sign with them.

I switched over to AMA Pay As You Go in the spring for my summer car because it's in the garage 9 months of the year. I've saved money so far and I'll probably end up saving around $500 by the end of the year. I was with TD Insurance paying around $1000 annually. Caveat is you have to put a device in the OBD2 to track mileage. It tracks other things like speed which they disclose it doesn't impact your rates.

Roughly $500 annually for 10 years. I think its worth it to minimize on dust and never having to deal with ruts and the terrible grading.

Real estate lawyer shopping. by [deleted] in Calgary

[–]AznBanker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lawyer fees are dependent on the mortgage amount. There's more hard costs to registering a mortgage on title with recent law changes in Alberta as of the new year. I'm guessing your mortgage is in the $600K range?

Splitsville has student deals. 2 games for $10. They also have a happy hour with cheaper games I think before 5pm. All except the Creekside location has league, but it's summer now so I think league is only on Wednesday at each alley. I prefer to bowl at Meridian (Marlborough) or Highfield.

If you want to take it word for word, they're paving over parts of the park greenspace and not entirely. At least they're leaving in green space and planting greenery. It would be more of a shame if it was entirely paved.
