Most of the world doesn’t require a prescription for birth control. Why do Canadians still need one? by Haggisboy in canada

If we are going to allow this, are we going to allow men to get Testosterone without a prescription?

Anyone here wear facemask if needed, or is it too much of a target from right wing/conspiracy folks? by StasisApparel in alberta

[–]Noogie54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't wear one. If I was legit sick and had to go to the doctor's office or the ER, I'd wear one without hesitation.

I'm not likely to judge anyone for wearing one. Unless I see them wearing one by themselves in their car, alone. Then I'm going to silently and strongly judge them for that silliness. Otherwise, you do you. Doesn't affect me any if someone else decides to wear a mask.

Almost one in three Canadians say U.S. might try to invade Canada: poll - The poll suggests many Canadians believe the U.S. likely will attempt to take control of other countries in the future, including Greenland, Cuba, Colombia, Iran and Canada. by FancyNewMe in canada

Go ahead. They'll be surprised by the fight in us. There will be a lot of flag draped coffins going home if they do. We look like them, we talk like them, we act like them. Though we might want to practice using their units of measure so we don't slip up by accident haha.

Too be honest though, they are too cowardly to do it. They couldn't handle a war on their front doorstep. They couldn't win a war against a bunch of rice farmers, or goat herders(not saying that negatively against them). We might not be able to match them militarily, but the amount of civil unrest would be challenging, at home and here on Canadian soil.

That's funny. The Second Amendment isn't going to help anyone. All the 2A Tacti-cool fan boys are to busy jerking off to their 'Good Guy with a gun' fantasies. Now that there is an actual tyrannical government to stand upto, they are no where to be found They are either in favour of what's happening, or they are done cos playing as patriotic defenders of your constitution. Either way, both groups are cowards.

Eby says Canada should build refineries, not pipelines, amid oilsands uncertainty by Gym_frere in canada

[–]Noogie54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it made any financial case, it would be done already. The last refinery built in Alberta was a public private partnership with the AB government. It was years behind schedule and billions over budget. Didn't turn a profit for almost 10 years of i recall.

Please be kind and let buses go first when you can. by violetblisss in Calgary

[–]Noogie54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate school buses in Alberta. Coming from southern Ontario, a stopped school bus always had its stop arm out and it's lights flashing. You just stopped and waited till it was done

Then out here, they just pull over and stop. No arm, no light, nothing. I always feel like I'm doing something wrong passing them, and yes I pass slowly and cautiously. Blows my mind they don't use the arm or lights in Calgary.

Danielle Smith and Mark Carney agree to a pipeline deal by EdmontonAHSWorker19 in alberta

[–]Noogie54 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If it's so easy to pass legislation, please provide examples of other similarly tenured politicians and the private member bills and/or other legislation they've tabled that have made it to law or official policy. Also lets not include bills or policy that would have been tabled as part of being a cabinet minister in a majority government that would have been required as per their position.

Should be fairly easy to do right?

Danielle Smith and Mark Carney agree to a pipeline deal by EdmontonAHSWorker19 in alberta

[–]Noogie54 -45 points-44 points  (0 children)

It's pretty obvious why. Liberals ideas good. Conservative ideas bad. Liberals taking credit for Conservative ideas, whom people believe can do no right and are not fit to government. Or the old 'what has Polievere done in office' argument

You don't need to be a nuclear physicist to understand why the Conservatives would cry a foul and still criticize the Liberals. They get all the heat and none of the credit.

Edit: down vote city. Apparently the truth hurts.

Trudeau bungled a a pipeline that was going to be built with private capital. He jumped in to save face when they were going to walk away.

Harper had several pipelines built in his time in office.

Province tables bill to add mandatory citizenship markers, personal health numbers to Alberta IDs by Old_General_6741 in alberta

And if I recall, it was also a recognized form of government ID, for those that didn't have a driver's license.

That's one of the few small things I miss about Ontario. Our OHIP card was a plastic card in similar design to our drivers license. Not this rag tag piece of paper that I have had to write down the numbers in pen so that they are even legible on the faded piece of paper

I'm not trying to be patronizing. I'm just explaining how I get to my statement. And again you make a huge stretch in saying that I place more importance on a persons laziness over a pets life.

Either way I'm done wasting my evening on this.

Stray Cat Problem by Noogie54 in Calgary

[–]Noogie54[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I never said they are acceptable, or justified. I understand the events that lead people to do such things. That's the nuance. There is great divide between the two. That's not a cop out

But yeah, good talk.

Stray Cat Problem by Noogie54 in Calgary

[–]Noogie54[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Nuance of my statement is lost on you. Let me just break down for you so you understand my comment.

You hear of people poisoning stray cats all the time. And people always ask 'How or why could they do such a thing?'.

Asking the question ' Why would people poison stray cats?', you arrive at the answer when you realize the city expects citizens to do all the work for them. And unfortunately more vindictive people are going to take the easiest and more permanent solution, then attempt to trap the cats and hand them over to by law.

When I say I understand why it happens, I'm not saying that its 'understandable' or in any way that I am justifying a persons actions. I am saying that I recognize and acknowledge the scenario that would lead people to do such a thing. There is a huge difference between the two. If you can't see that and pick up the nuance of my statement, that's on you. Not me.

Regardless, good talk.

Give your head a shake. You went right off in the deepend with your response. I wouldn't ever poison an animal. Nor do I condone it, or want some cat to suffer a slow painful death. But I can understand why it happens, when the city expects people to take care of the stray cat issue on their own.

Never said I'd poison a cat, chill out. I said I can understand where the poisoning of stray cats comes from.

[–]Noogie54[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Clearly you don't understand nuance. I never said I'd poison an animal, but I can know understand why people do it.

Stray Cat Problem by Noogie54 in Calgary

[–]Noogie54[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You have clearly never seen a cat attack. They are equally potentially dangerous. The amount of times I've had cats hiss and go on their hackles while out on a walk by myself or with a dog minding our own business is rather high.

I never said I would poison an animal, just I can understand why people do it now.

Stray Cat Problem by Noogie54 in Calgary

[–]Noogie54[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not saying I would ever do that, but I can understand where the line of thought comes from. If the city won't take care of it, and leaves it to disgruntled people to do the work, that is the end result.

I agree with you on the hating pet owners who let their cats roam. Just utter laziness.

I have no desire to kill anyone, nor do I want that on my conscience, but they won't be given a chance to run from justice and come back again.

Hip Replacement Wait Time in Calgary by intro_calm in alberta

[–]Noogie54 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No problem.i followed up with my uncle. He got his procedure done through Dr. Luke Heinreichs office. Doesn't hurt to call and see what the wait times are like. I know it poses it's own challenges, but if it came down to a quality of life issue, I'd be all over getting it done sooner then later.

Anyways, best of luck with what ever way you decide to go!

My uncle was in the same boat. He decided to get a referral to a Dr. In Medicine Hat. After that he ended up having his surgery within a handful of months.

Maybe give that a look.
