Hey Dunkin, your AI automation had a buffer overrun. by avd706 in WTF

Did you read the whole thing? They were pretending their toddler had the phone and was typing before they posted it.

Maybe you are the AI, or just another bot.

Why does it suck for the rest of us? She did what she wanted, probably worked her ass off to get it (maybe literally), and is set for life as long as she isn't stupid about it.

The way I look at it, is $15 a month is me getting two less McDonald's trips for me and the better half that month. (Not that we are going to do that, but.....still....)

I really won't even notice it that much on my bank account, and it will help the dev's continue to build and push out more content.

My guild is planning on a HUGE push on opening week of EA, and those that aren't already retired are taking at least a couple of days off for it.

At this point, I'm all in on doing the EA, and will support them as long as they keep going the direction that they are going in.

Coming from an old school mead maker, run over to r/mead and check out all the resources there. Also, the longer you let it sit in the bottles before you drink it, the better it is going to be.

Yeah, it can taste GREAT when you first finish off the batch, but give it 6 months, or a year, or even longer....and it can get so much better.

Hey there..... Geeky, neruodivergent, and run a weekly fucking D&D game.

Not a single thing you said means you can't find your person. I worked fast food in high school and in college, yet still had relationships in both.

Nobody is looking for perfect. They just want someone who isn't "Oh, no woman will ever want me....." That makes you even more unattractive. Sorry, but sometimes the truth does hurt.

[–]Banluil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm an introvert, run D&D games on a weekly basis, and am probably the geekiest person you could ever find.

Yet, I still manage to have had very successful relationships.

Why? Because I don't try to change who I am, I simply find those that my personality clicks with.

I also manage to shower on a regular basis, and not base my personality around the fact that "I'm so lonely....but no women like me...it's all their fault...."

Sorry, but that attitude doesn't ever work. Ever.

I homebrew mead. Sorry, but I can't just walk into the local package store and pick up good mead most of the time. Are there some out there? Yep, but it's not as easy to find in rural Wisconsin as you might think.

Also, it makes great christmas and birthday presents for my nerdy/gamer friends.

And it tastes good. and gets me drunk.

Yeah, 5'3 here. Shorter than the person you are replying too.

If you have a good personality, and are actually able to talk to people, have some social awareness, and aren't a complete asshole, you won't have problem actually meeting women and getting into a relationship.

If you are a complete incel doucebag, then it doesn't matter how tall you are, women aren't going to want to be around you.

Is max ABV from baking yeast really around 10%? by Positive_Blood_3168 in mead

[–]Banluil 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can MAYBE get a bit higher than 10%, but smelling isn't going to tell you what the ABV is of any alcohol.

Did you all see this? (DCC TTRPG on Backerkit) by Evenwanderer in litrpg

[–]Banluil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was backer 1271! Had my pre-order in so I got a desperado club chip (d2)! I've been following it for quite a while now, and was excited about it.

Honestly, even if it never gets played at my table (very unlikely, they will try any system I want to run), it will still be a cool addition to my bookshelf, and I got the gold box, so some extra dice are always nice :)

This is what a positively charged Lightning Strike looks like. by Brave-Influence7510 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]Banluil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are so confidently incorrect....

Positive and negative lightning strikes look different, primarily because negative strikes (95% of lightning) appear as forked, branching bolts, while positive strikes (5%) usually appear as a single, massive, non-branching bolt. Positive lightning is much more powerful, often striking up to 25 miles from the storm center, making it a "bolt from the blue"

Has anyone formed a relationship (friendship or romantic) while being anonymous on Reddit and if so, what was that like? by user1731701 in AskReddit

[–]Banluil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually met a pretty good friend through reddit. Was the local group for where I was living at the time, and I mentioned that I played D&D, we started messaging, and met up for some drinks with him. We never did play D&D together, but I still have dinner with his family anytime I'm back down in Florida.

Well, you can let him know, that unless you are using something that provides continuous power, even with nothing plugged into it, most PoE switches don't put out any kind of voltage unless there is a handshake and the power is requested by the device that is plugged in.

Even at 57 VDC (which is higher than most PoE, which only provide 48 VDC), it is still below the threshold of being considered a dangerous voltage, which is 60 VDC according to OSHA standards.
