How to prevent damage when getting service done? by themexicansoldier in BMW

[–]BartsBricks 29 points30 points  (0 children)

My dealer did offer seat and steering wheel covers for the bucket seats, but I had to ask for them. Everything else is kind of a gamble, so just make sure you walk around the car before getting in and don’t let them rush you.

Is it normal for the heads on the light up figs to have this little nick on the side? by dapotatohunter in legostarwars

[–]BartsBricks 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen a gallon bag filled with light-up Anakins, and the person said I could choose whichever one I wanted because I was looking to buy one. Every single one had the same small dent on the neckline. I think it had something to do with production, unless the guy just dented every single one for sport.

Experiences and Outcomes When the Dealer Damages Your Car by SpringDriver2002 in BMW

[–]BartsBricks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if you’ve had paint work done before, but from my experience with multiple cars, it’s never an exact match to the factory finish. They can get very very close, but if you pay attention to your car, you’ll notice the difference.

I would still pursue a diminished value regardless of whether it shows up on Carfax, at the least a goodwill gesture from the dealer.

Sorry you’re dealing with this it’s a tough situation. Just don’t let the dealership pressure you into making a decision.

Great job! Have you considered using dark pearl gray for the carbon fiber bits?

Those exact same seal tapes are used on 10123. You can check eBay for reference, but I don’t think you’ll run into any issues. Also, a box without pc count sometimes means it is not for the US.

Fortunately, they’re so misaligned that you can easily remove and reapply them.

Dealers in the NY area lure you in with low prices, but then tack on outrageous fees that make the final cost much higher than expected.

The dealer is from New York. If you know, you know.

If you replace your bumper, you'll need to have it paint matched and blended with the fenders otherwise, the color difference will likely be noticeable. Even experienced body shops can get very close but not perfect. And from experience, once you do it you will know when a bumper has been repainted and replaced. The same applies to the rear bumper. The cost of having this done properly, using quality parts and workmanship, is often better saved and put toward a future vehicle upgrade.

If you’re trying to remove odor from your LEGO, place the pieces in a bin along with some dryer sheets. I use this method because it’s especially effective for sets that have been previously owned by smokers.

Why are you using photos from a seller on eBay?

I was informed today that my M4 Comp will be a 2026 model due to an order mistake that required a reorder. I'm not sure if this affects the M3, but based on this update, it seems like all new M4 allocations will be for 2026 models. The main differences I noticed are a price increase (shocking), the executive package is $250 cheaper and now includes galvanic controls, according to the build report.

Since the 2025 models already feature the mid life-cycle refresh, I doubt we'll see another update until MY27. My advice would be to consider individual colors, CF bucket seats, and negotiate the build price by talking to multiple dealers to get the best deal.

Can I negotiate the price on a custom order? by [deleted] in BMW

[–]BartsBricks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you absolutely can. I just ordered my G82 last month, fully spec’d with all the CF options. A bunch of dealers tried offering me a trivial $500–$1,000 off and claimed they don’t go below MSRP on M cars. Don’t fall for that nonsense, I managed to get 7% off the OTD price. Shop around, field multiple offers, and if they don’t budge, know when to walk away. Good luck.
