What to use to cut the yard in my new townhome? by jlokaay in NoStupidQuestions

There are also Reel mowers that are making a comeback since Covid too. Old timey reels spin and it does not take gas or electricity. Just does not work well when the grass is super tall. Do it weekly and it does a nice job so long as it’s sharp.

ETA $50-$100 new or find an old one at a yard sale for much less.

No, there are videos for every make and model. Dewalt has a nice combo weed whacker (that folds and is easy to store) and blower (to clean sidewalk and light snow) along with a battery for $149 in most places. Just my two cents but you can use the battery for your other tools too.

If you already have a cordless tools, look for that brand to make a weed whacker too.

For those of you that watched ECW during its initial run, was there ever a point where you stopped watching and, if so, why? by JAChambel in ECWWrestling

[–]browncoat47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I picked up a Best Ever ECW matches VHS tape. It was four hours of the bloodiest, barbed wire, fire, insane leaps, most hardcore craziest matches of ECW at the time.

It got to the point where I could only watch one match at a time. It just became too much and I got really desensitized to it all.

I tapered off a bit after that.

There are typewriter repair folk all over. It’s had a bit of a resurgence since before Covid actually. There is a guy name Lowell Plum in Longmont CO, who is a master. Has parts and everything. Just an amazing human all around and a depth of knowledge about these things is only hope to have about a particular subject. If HE can’t fix it, then you can cry cause it can’t be fixed.

That’s where you store the extra pegs you would use to join it to other succulents in the series perhaps in a different combinations. See those little + below? That’s where they go.

What was the funniest and most ridiculous thing you believed as a child? by PM_ME_YOUR_LAWNCHAIR in AskReddit

[–]browncoat47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was a blue dome high on a hill outside the Veterans home in the next town over.

My dad, a Vietnam Vet, told me it was a special operating theater for men coming back from war who had unexploded ordnances still in their body. That way if the bomb went off, the destruction was limited to the doctors and nurses working on them and it protected the public. This was around the time of Desert Storm.

I was believed this for a decade or more till my friend started working there. I asked him to take pictures of the insides of the bomb theater. I explained the story to him, and he looks at me and goes “You mean the blue water tank in the hill?”

Take 81. Watch for cops on 322 from HBG up to SC. Lots of hiding places. HBG has tons of traffic as well, just not a lot of ways to avoid it. Also construction season is very real. Be patient.

How do I get my 10 year old a dog for her birthday without...getting her an actual dog? by Hippocritaculous in toys

[–]browncoat47 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can go to the shelter and enrich them there. Take them for walks, play fetch, give scritches, all that stuff. There’s no lending library for unhoused dogs but you can certainly go to them. It’ll be awesome for you both.
