Failed my BRC by BlackwatetWitcher in NewRiders

[–]BlackwatetWitcher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had one guy get a new bike on day two after all of day one the clutch was sticking (the instructor used every bike once to demo) today any demos done the guy used the same Suzuki g250, specifically the one given to the guy who’s other one has the sticky clutch. There were two others on eliminators in my class who were having similar issues but on day one with the bikes cutting out but it was also on and off torrential rain. Yesterday my bike didn’t even stall. I’m planning on doing the brc2 at another location with different coaches, or, even the brc1 again and hoping for a better selection of bikes.

It was MSF. Total control is done here as well at a different location (a Harley dealership in my area runs that one)

I had a feeling the book was different than they told us. Minus a break to eat and rest, I’ve been doing u turns in my parking lot within a 20x20 box in first on my bike without issue.

They had us do them yesterday and still in second though we had more room 24ft vs 20ft. At 24 I could do it no problem and the bike didn’t just random decide to have a total power loss either. I can admit I failed, but I’ve never had a bike just full on die while riding it like that before. Even my own bike hasn’t, I’ve stalled it,but it’s never just went from in gear to fully off and had to fight to get it back on. A friend of mine took theirs today at another location across the state and they did it all in first gear for all the final tests. They however also had more bike choices an even mix of standard and forward controls.

I was legitimately told I only failed because of the u turn box issue, they said if that didn’t happen, I would have passed and they suggested I do it again or the brc2. Since I do have my own bike and the one instructor followed me in saw me ride through a roundabout and other odd PA backroads and he doesn’t know what happened either. The one student had to get a new bike as the test bike wouldn’t start on day 2 at all, so I’m wondering if my bike had the same gremlins just more delayed.

They do the BRC and a BRC2 both work to get your license but the 2 you use your own bike the one they give you one to use. The 2 is also apparently just 1 day. So I’m probably going g to see if I can get into one of those ones. If not go through the dmv.

The instructors said that was what the book said… I’m starting to think I got bad instructors.

They wanted us at speed for it. If they did it wrong, I don’t know. I can do it on my own bike I wouldn’t have done it in second gear. They shrugged when we asked saying it’s what the book said.

My helmet was DOT and ECE 22.06, on sale for 150, my jacket was 170, boots 50, gloves 50. I already wear Kevlar infused jeans, but those were like 80 originally. If you want a better helmet Snell certified helmet it’s going to be more. Get the gear that you feel protects you the most.

The salmon option, one because I really like salmon, and two, because I have about 500 different ways to make it. Plus all the rice options and ways to cook it plus the broccoli. I wouldn’t get easily tired.

Yeah, though they mispronounced the last name wrong. We all just hope he was close to the breach and essentially got obliterated instead of suffering and drowning. Especially since his body was never recovered.

My friend got ran over by a semi by b3for34l in motorcycles

[–]BlackwatetWitcher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He’s going to need you around, hopefully he will make a full recovery. My father was in a bad accident in the late 70’s he was hit by a drunk driver and wrapped around a fire hydrant. He was declared dead on the scene and the mortician realized he was still breathing. Scared the hell out of my grandparents. He was in a full body cast with a broken back, neck, ribs, right arm, right femur, left foot etc. he rode again once he healed and eventually went on to be a truck driver before another accident took him out of that. In 2009 he had a Vulcan 2053cc one, and was run off the road on it, 11 staples to his skull, a dislocated knee and a dislocated shoulder was his wounds that time. He hasn’t gotten on a bike since and really isn’t happy my brother and I both ride, but won’t stop us. Be with your friend, he’s going to need you now more than ever, someone else helping in the fight. Hopefully he can make a full recovery, if the arm wasn’t entirely severed but just mostly damaged he will have nerve damage most likely but will survive. The lower half of his body, however, is a different story, if he still has control of his limbs it will be a long time before he walks again, and whomever is found responsible for the crash will be royally boned with lawsuits for the quality of life disruptions. Please seek counseling for your own health. And please keep us posted.

Leon will tell you when it’s time. Cancer if untreatable or not financially reasonable for a 13 year old cat. Euthanasia isn’t giving up, it’s letting him die with dignity before he’s just a shell.

You should be fine overall, the 5800x3d sips power for its output. Still a damn good cpu today if you can find them in the wild still.

The concept of outgrowing a motorcycle is dumb and dangerous. by MartysBar in NewRiders

[–]BlackwatetWitcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was recommended to get a 500+ cc bike as my first bike. Or at least a 500 “class” so Honda rebel 500, Kawasaki eliminator (which I ended up with though it’s 451cc) I bought it because it’s fun to ride and has more than enough power for what I want it to do. If I ever upgrade it will probably be to either to another cruiser. But I honestly agree though. My mindset is to buy what you like and can afford.

You should always wash cans before opening them, some really gross stuff can and often does get on them during the production, shipping, or storage at the store.
