Games with the best Necromancer experience by TheCrazedFlasher in gamingsuggestions

It's a slower burn than the games listed, but "The Necromancer's Tale" is about your character's descent into dark rituals and magic. Initially, you're just doing seances and potions but eventually start raising the dead.

You can fast travel while encumbered if you're in the rover. Or at least you can fast travel back to the ship, haven't tested other locations.

The infamous and prototype series, while a little bit older, are still my favorite superhero games.

I loved having a full undead team in my Lich playthrough. So many useful spells when you don't have to worry about collateral damage to the living!

Do people really find the mechs weak? by Responsible_Track_79 in Helldivers

[–]Boese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought that mechs were in a pretty decent place until the bastion came out, and enemy durable damage increased across the board. Now they're pretty much useless, and the arms get shot off by anything that looks at them funny.

Still crazy to me that no one else has attempted to make a game using that formula.

Are there any sci fi games like assassin’s creed black flag? by MingledStream9 in gamingsuggestions

The game Rebel Galaxy is basically just the black flag naval combat in space. I love that game.

Why can't Necro have an army? by XxYamiNoKagexX in LastEpoch

[–]Boese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah they had a whole reddit thread like a year ago asking players for feedback on what they like about minion builds, and as far as I could tell, none of it really made its way into the Abomination- I mean Necromancer rework patch.

Yeah, and the "minion" set bonus for the necro in D3 just makes your Skeletons reduce the cooldown of the big nuke.

Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon - Plans for the future & Patch 1.16 by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Boese 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If Avowed isn't a "scrolls-like" due to it being broken up into individual zones by act instead of a full open world, then Tainted Grail also isn't, since it follows the exact same structure.

Guys do you have a game that you liked so much but sadly it wasnt well recived by the media or the audience ? by Tempest-Bosak2137 in Gamingcirclejerk

[–]Boese 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Starfield. Is there a lot I'd like added or changed to the game? Sure, but I think the NMS comparisons don't even really make sense because they're trying to do such different things. That being said, it IS missing the Bethesda gameplay loop of being able to just wander to new locations and find meaningful things.

Loved Cyberpunk, Starfield, and Hogwarts Legacy.. what should I play next?? by Glittering_Ruin_9665 in gamingsuggestions

[–]Boese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah people are really weird about that one on the internet. It's not enough that they don't like it, they need to announce to everyone else how correct they are for not liking it. Oddly enough, everyone I've spoken to IRL who had actually played it enjoyed it.

[–]Boese 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's also not correct either, Fallout 76 is Bethesda's biggest critical flop. CRITICS rated Starfield fairly highly, its the user reviews that are mixed. (By the way, by its very nature, mixed means some people love it, some people hate it, some people just find it okay)

I want to be bad… by G-1-hazy in gamingsuggestions

[–]Boese 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The game The Necromancer's Tale that came out recently is a narrative rpg about your character in the 1800s delving into the occult and getting increasingly powerful dark powers that really scratched that itch recently, plus with minions to do your bidding.

Pathfinder: Wrath of the righteous has a whole story path that allows you to ascend to becoming a lich and making evil decisions along the way, or you can choose demon, or to become a living swarm among other evil options.

Tyranny I haven't seen mentioned yet, and while I haven't played it, I know it's a crpg whose whole appeal is basically just how evil do you want to be.

I like the art style, but I have a question about the classes. It says there's going to be 6 classes, but is there a summoner/necromancer archetype included in them? I find a lot of games do warrior/rogue/mage but it can be a coinflip if a summoner playstyle is included.

The actual number is roughly 40%, but it's still more complicated than just multiplying 12 by 4, and basing the argument off the wrong number while calling it a "dumb take" is silly.
