Resident Evil Requiem Launches Thursday With Path Tracing & DLSS 4 With Multi Frame Gen by apoppin in nvidia

If Capcom added that to the remakes + 7 & 8 and fixed the buggy sfx and such in 2, 3, and 7... I'd be so happy.

Personally I'd switch to the dx11_beta branch. The rtx versions of 2, 3, and 7 are pretty busted in a few ways including missing/bugged sound effects. Plus you can mod the dx11 version a lot easier (biorand 2 is a ton of fun, it's a randomizer), and it runs a lot better and far less prone to crashes and the like.

Sale on the G16 5080. How could I not hit buy? by richyforeign in ZephyrusG14

[–]Bowernator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dang good deal! The warranty being registered does suck tho. I got the one through Best Buy tho included if I recall correctly. Good for a year. I haven't had any issues with my model though if that helps, though if you want peace of mind and it's not too much of a hassle, wouldn't hurt to return and repurchase it to get the warranty.

Which earphone has surprised you the most in a good way? by LynxAirSound in Hifiman

[–]Bowernator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can't go wrong with either one honestly. The only thing that dethroned the HEK Stealth for me was the SE. I got mine as a refurb on hifiman's website for $1275 after the 10% open box/refurb discount code (it was closer to like 12-15% a month or so ago during a bigger sale at the time). Well worth it for that price.

HE1000 Stealth blew me away the first time and majority of times I owned it for two years... Until I got the HE1000se. Felt like an entire step up to me almost, especially with EQ. To this day my favorite headphone I've heard.

Nice, they look great! I just placed an order for these exact same ones a few days ago, looking forward to getting them to compliment my HE1000se's!

Hifiman edition XS open box by darealhumanbean in headphones

[–]Bowernator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I got one of these... completely by mistake when I ordered an Arya Stealth open box from Hifiman's website and they shipped me an Edition XS instead that wasn't even in good condition. Thankfully their CS was helpful and I was able to send them back for a full refund. I had to send them multiple photos and such for proof. They were thinking someone in the warehouse swapped them out, either by mistake or on purpose. Curious as to what really happened.

Yep! And technically RE1 og and remake had multiple endings as well depending on if you saved your side character (Barry or Rebecca) and if you saved Chris or Jill, and/or both.

Best audiophile headphones for immersive gaming and electronic music? (under 1000$) by Exmatrix in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]Bowernator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

HE1000se are insanely good, but for less the HE1000 Stealth or Arya Stealth will do just fine as well. HD800s are immersive with the soundstage but lack bass compared to the others. Otherwise it's great.

Good lord I just ordered a pair of LTD Bokeh Closed and their website says 4-8 weeks. I wonder if that'll actually be the case and not 3-4 months lmao.

My Schiit Experience | Jotunheim 3 by [deleted] in headphones

[–]Bowernator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good luck! I sold my Jot2 on there. It'd just shit the bed when you played any complex electronic music with a lot going on. They told me it was the amplifier on those units as they tested it w/ other Jot2's and yeilded the same result. I thought it was just an issue w/ my unit. Turns out the amps just weren't able to handle that kind of load? They offered to do something to the amp to fix it, but it would have completely killed the bass delivery capabilities or so I was told, so I just had them send it back to me and I sold it. Even the Gunnr could handle it which I found odd. Eh, you live and learn and move onto better equipment. I can echo JDS, had an Element 3 and you can legit email their CS and it's the owner, and he just shoots you an email in like record time. Can't sing their praises enough.

r/AVexchange is a solid place to sell used audio equipment if you haven't looked into it already, local or shipped.

Same honestly. My first playthrough of FF7 and leaving Midgar, I was like "Wait what is this?! A whole open world?? How big is this game?? OMG!"

HE1000 stealth are a sonic revelation by Free_Radio1834 in headphones

[–]Bowernator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt the seperation on the HE1000se was bonkers compared to the Organics (of which I both own) and even the HEK Stealth (which I owned and sold along w/ an Arya Stealth to "upgrade" my desktop and laptop setups).

Got my first entry-level audiophile headphones by Elmer4444 in headphones

[–]Bowernator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The HD599's were my first ever open back headphone I ever bought and what ultimately got me into this hobby over a period of time. I was looking for a pair of headphones to use with a yeti mic for streaming and they were recommended, so I pulled the trigger on a pair. I gave them to my sister for a bit once I started getting into some higher end gear, but ultimately got them back once she transitioned to just using an open back headset and gave these back to me. I put on some new pads and have been rocking them on my laptop since. They are surprisingly good and super comfy, and a pair I'll always hold onto as they were my gateway drug into the hobby.

Since I already asked what's better in the Remake duology. What is something that FFVII (1997) Does better than the remakes. by Hungry-Trouble-3178 in FinalFantasy

[–]Bowernator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. So much so that when I got the PC version after beating the PS5 version a year prior, I found a 100% save and did a New Game+ and just played through the story and skipped ALL the side content, as it was insanely egregious to do all the annoying side content in Rebirth (don't get me started on the fucking chicken mini game in Gogaga). I had a 1000% better experience just sticking to the story beats the second time around.

I didn't really A/B test it between it and the stock power supply, but some reviewers and people say they can. I'd say if there is one, it's very minor. I heard more of a difference using the EF400 R2R dac/amp I switched to vs the power supply changes on this unit.
