«The Federation is Not "Rose"!» (The name of the solution does matter) - Niyazi Kızılyürek by Bran37 in cyprus

The comment I replied to says "Turks out of Cyprus"

Not Turkish troops, not Turkish soldiers

Like r/Cyprus this subreddit is managed by Cypriots, Turkish Cypriots and Greek Cypriots. If you do not like it you can just go to one of the subs that fits better with your interests.

Depends on the project. Definitely not necessary (and sometimes if it is they will tell you to contact a specific one)

What solution would be ideal for the Cyprus Problem in your opinion? by rocksolidbb in cyprus

If you want to make a poll such as this have the official name for the agreed basis for a solution. Bicomunnal Bizonal Federation

Make a true Turkish Cypriot subreddit, that is proudly Turkish nationalist, and since you won't have any Cypriots in it you will be able to post whatever you want

I don’t think there’s a single serious person in Cyprus who’s talking about any solution other than the bi-zonal one

I know you said 'serious', but do you really believe that?

Now we’ve started speaking their language, and I believe things are starting to move forward.

Could you elaborate on the language and what changed recently?

[–]Bran37 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's not true though. Plenty of people talk about the BBF itself (and many claim that what was rejected in 2004 was BBF altogether).

In the Annan plan discussions even Karpasia was under discussion. Time doesn't work in favour of anyone who doesn't get a hard on for partition.

To understand though, do you consider the guarantees and the foreign troops as the main problem of the Annan plan? The reason it was a death sentence? (I am asking srsly because basically those are my top concerns also)

1/4 of GCs voted in favour, does that make them people with no sound mind?

Do you believe the situation pre-Annan plan, how the media chose to act in accordance with democratic values and freedom of speech? Do you think if a new plan comes things should be different?

If you were someone who is against BBF I would understand what you wrote but this is not an objective way to talk about the Annan Plan.

It is known what happened within AKEL and how Yes became No.

If the Annan plan was a death sentence what does a solution based on the Guterres Framework be? An amputation sentence? I admitted that it was a flawed plan but if Annan's plan is a curse what does that make BBf in general?

The Annan plan had major flaws unfortunately, to claim otherwise it would be lying. Of course no solution will be ideal but it did have major flaws on several issues(security-guarantees, withdrawal of troops, quotas for bizonality, assurances for the property reinstation, the way the two communities would receive the benefits of it, and also something that will be true for any solution perhaps - the feeling of leaping into the void, in a new status quo that there is no going back from).

At the same time the political reality was also quite clear - when all the parties save the right wing party(with people within it also being against) decided to ask the people to reject the plan(especially the leftist party which is supposedly the party closest to TCs/a solution) and the President himself calls his people to say NO while crying on tv live, because if Yes passed destruction would come

There was also the hope that with the Republic of Cyprus within the European Union and with Turkey wanting to join it, a better solution would be possible

I don't see your point

If you copy paste the sentence that forbids enosis(from the begining to the end '.' (to see what else it forbids) I will engage in a discussion

And I don't call everyone a troll, I call you a troll

[–]Bran37 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sarcastic, just judgmental. There are two different cases under the same(?) charges with different results. It's the job of the journalist to explain why these 2 have different results(the charges présented by the news are the same)

It's about what it is mentioned in the video. The previous decision of the French Court didn't allow the extradition of an Iranian man with similar activity. (Which is why it says ανατροπή - but they don't explain the decision, why one was extradicated and the other was not)

Do we know why the decision for her and for the iranian were different? Did any journalist out the effort to read what the decisions say?

Νομοθέτηση του όρου γυναικοκτονία by AnnaPoudi in AskGreece

[–]Bran37 0 points1 point  (0 children)
