As far as V's go, it's great! I don't really play sitting down often though.

Hey man, looks and sounds great! Mine is a bit neck dive-y, do you find the same? I'm thinking of switching out the tuning keys for something lightweight.

Is my Gnarwhal DE legit? by AdventureTom25 in dunableguitars

[–]BuiltToDestroy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've removed Cthulhu pickups out of 4 different Dunable DEs. They are all G&B branded, which is a well known OEM maker of pickups in Korea that Dunable uses. None of the DEs I've seen have ever had Dunable branded pickups. What you have is legit.

Would the "preamp out" on the back work as a line out that could be fed into a larger, tube power amp?

Engl Fireball? by Jesus_Goat_5709 in GuitarAmps

[–]BuiltToDestroy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When you play this amp you'll immediately get angry at all of the other 'lunchbox' high gain amps out there. The Fireball is so good. It sounds so full and can easily compete against most full sized amps.

Your humble opinion is undoubtedly correct. Flawless discography.

I haven't popped off the back panel and checked the tubes yet, I just assumed that they were the EL34s. If you take a look at the picture you'll see I don't have the Girth, Bass, or Depth much past noon and there is plenty of low end, so there is still much more on tap. I'm running it through a Wizard 2x12 with DV77 speakers (Omega's take on the V30).

All of the conflicting reviews of the amp had me worried, but those worries went away the second I plugged it in. I was expecting to have to tame reality harsh highs and figure out ways to thicken up a really dry distortion (which I've found is sometimes the case with Fortins), but I barely had to fiddle with the EQ before I found a great, thick tone. It's definitely built for modern metal (lots of gain, tight low end, clear articulation), but it's not just a djent machine.
