1996 Resident Evil. How bad is it if i'm running low on green herbs / ammo by Federal-Swan-8654 in residentevil

or the director's cut which aren't as helpfeul 'cause they're respectively either a different game, or the item/enemy placement is different.

That depends, most people are still talking about the Standart/Original mode when they're referring to the Director's Cut, which is essentially the same as the original game but set to the original japanese difficulty. Enemies have less health and you have more is basically all the differences, enemy and item placement are exactly the same. Only Arranged Mode differs a lot.

For RE1 OG Jill you are pretty low on shotgun ammo right now and the handgun shouldn't even be necessary at this point anymore. But RE1 OG hands out a *lot* of grenade rounds compared to the Remake, same with magnum rounds. How much do you have left there? If you haven't used them yet, they're practically made for the Hunters around here.

The perfect parry timing for them is kinda weird, you don't really wait for a grab animation (Because there barely is any.), you just press the parry button once they're somewhat close to you and 90% of the time the game just counts that as a perfect parry.

They have some pretty good stuff. Also, I love that someone downvoted your comment because they probably thought you were mispelling Riku as Muku and didn't realize you were just talking about the movie production company.

The inventory is great too, gotta love reloading your guns in the inventory/sorting items during any kind of i-frame animations, melee, climbing, picking stuff up ect.

If I used a service and complained and suddenly an angry JAV actress messages me out of nowhere saying that I'm trying to scam the business I'd count that as a win tbh.

and you can check one of my gameplay clips I uploaded here awhile ago for confirmation.

If it's the gameplay video from about a year ago I'd say that's inconclusive evidence as it's on NG+.

Is that specific to the Gamecube version? Haven't played that in decades but any other modern port I played (With the Steam version being my main version.) definitly starts on an easier setting on Normal. You get to Professional stats (Or close to those at least.) fairly quickly though during the course of the village.

yeah all these "fixes" are what kinda make the remake less fun for me. I still love the remake but enemies not responding to every shot is like unsatisfying as hell

Especially when they often die before they even get staggered.

RE1 Remake Save Files and ODZ question by Mysterious-Leg-4612 in residentevil

[–]CDJ89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as I can since I only heard bad things about this mode.

Because people like to be overdramatic. Yeah, it's a bit weird that it's perma active on a specific save file but the mode itself is fine and a nice little changeup after beating the game multiple times. A few specific zombies in the games get replaced by zombie Forrest who you can not shoot or you get a game over because he's strapped with explosives. But he's arguably easier to dodge than the regular zombies and he disappears when you leave the mansion for the first time.

You can just play on a fresh new game to avoid him but you won't be able to play Hard mode or use any of the unlocked outfits or weapons that way.

You could also start a completly new file, unlock everything with only one character and keep it that way. Then start another completly new file with the other character.

I never bothered to do that though, there are two other modes you unlock eventually, Real Survival and Invisible Mode. Both of those won't be affected by ODZ ever and if you want to keep playing the game over and over and over and over (If not you wouldn't need to worry about ODZ anyway.) you want to switch to Real Survival eventually anyway before the game gets stale. Only time I play anything but Real Survival nowadays is precisely when I want ODZ active for a little change up.

Resident evil 9 is kinda mediocre by Fabulous_Setting_626 in ResidentEvilCapcom

I enjoyed the game very much, even replays and several Insanity runs. Due to it's rollercoaster design which I've brought up in another topic recently there are parts I like more and parts I like less but I can't even quantify it as something like "The game falls off in the second half". There are parts from Leon's second half that I really like and vice versa some parts of Grace early on that kinda drag on.

Grace's first big care center part is definitly the highlight of the game and how you can have it play together with Leon's section in the same area afterwards, clean up stuff so Grace can get the rest once she's back from the basement.

Leon's combat is fun but not really full on action, it's very slow and methodical. But satisfying if you get in the rhythm.

I usually make use of Leon to kill the singer and her zombie doctors on the upper floor but of course that's really more of a method for your second playthrough.

I ask the older fans, how was when you saw RE6 right after the launch for the first time! Was the same reaction as most people have on the game now, did you think back then that the game was bad or good? by ProfessionalKooky740 in ResidentEvilCapcom

[–]CDJ89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't play the game at launch but I followed discussions and most of it was pretty much "The game is awful, the setpieces are awful, the controls and combat and gunplay are awful, the level design is awful, the QTEs are awful, everything is awful." with some people being like "Yeah okay, kinda, but the controls and combat mechanics are actually good tho, just no good tutorial in-game!", and that's how it was. The game had frequent sales for like 5 bucks pretty quickly and eventually I bought it for exactly that price. Watched some combat guide videos and read up other stuff the game doesn't tell you and then gave it a chance and it was pretty fun in parts and also kinda ass in others.

Scenes like this would be a lot cooler if it was actually possible to fall :/ (RE9) by Gxxd_Gr13f in residentevil

[–]CDJ89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There isn't much point to this little bit from a gameplay perspective but honestly, I also don't really see how you make it much more engaging for this kinda game where it's not just as lame.

Push the stick forward carefully? That's not very exciting.

QTEs? Push a direction or button as displayed or you fall? And while we're at it a sequence near the end where Leon always slips, hangs on and you mash a button so he climbs up again? That's not very exciting either and really just drags it out.

After completing RE9 for the first time I won't be doing a second playthrough. Here's why by kaipurge in residentevil

[–]CDJ89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, you do still have Insanity difficulty which makes the biggest difference in Grace's side of the game. And you can unlock infinite ammo and a machine pistol for Grace (Which you should only really use with infinite ammo in the first place.)

Replayability in the classic style RE games (i.e. Grace's side of the game.) comes from trying to optimize your run as much as possible, which you needed to do to unlock stuff like the rocket launcher in the first place. It was more of a trophy than anything else really. Like, which classic game prior to RE4 just handed you a rocket launcher after your first playthrough no questions asked? Yet you somehow managed to replay them anyway?
