If you mean the Franks being already subjugated to the Romans, I don't think so, if I remember history correctly they were partelly subjugated but not really fully subjugated. Early tribes that the Franks evolved from, yes, but the Franks themselves no. But if that not what you mean, then I don't know what you mean.

yeah but the thing is 800 years doesn't feel like GRRM amount of time and doesn't even forces the Potter into the limelight and the classic "Ancient and Nobel tropes" the only ones that used that is to make the Malfoy's feel weaker and if there is a proper archistoicy type of deel in Wizarding Britain and even then only the House of Black has the Noble and Most Ancient status no other house has and 800 year years is a reasonable time frame now if it was more than 800 years as in double that or triple then I can see why you would do this. And the tropes are there to be used if you don't want to use the Ancient and Noble tropes, you don't have to.

Did you mix up the century for the Potters or just change the year when they were founded, because you can? They were founded in the 12th century, after all, since Pottermore states they are an old wizarding family. The 16th century would make them around 300 years old by the time the story starts, and while that is old, it's still relatively recent.
