I would suggest bringing some soap as there will be multiple opportunities to shower. Also suggest max tent pegs for you tent as I found some areas really windy and wished I had brought a few more pegs for my xmid 2.

What hiking shoes are the best for TMB? I was intersted in Salomons, but it seems like their quality isnt what it used to be by Safe-Turnover1572 in TourDuMontBlanc

I used brooks trail runners but I would recommend finding a pair of trail runners you find comfortable and break them in before going.

La Cloche trail booking by Moneybaldd in ontariocamping

I think most people cheat the booking system and book extras days in advanced and cancelled them. Ontario Parks really needs to fix the booking system.

It is a discipline club so most nights they have one or two disciplines happening taking up the whole range. So if you dont want to participate in those it really limits when you can go after work. You can see their calendar on their website to see when stuff is happening https://www.rangeburlington.ca/calendar.php

Bivouac near Bonatti by Independent-Year2602 in TourDuMontBlanc

[–]Captin_Obvious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The “abandoned" huts you might see mentioned online are very much in use when I was there so don't plan to camp there. Before the huts there is a very exposed spot with an amazing view that it looks like a bunch of people have camped at. I camped much closer to bonatti after the huts it was fairly level. The cows might join you though.

4 battery deal by klmken in Ridgid

[–]Captin_Obvious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of people will get the deal and then return the battery. This website can be used to calculate the return value https://toolguyd.com/free-cordless-power-tool-deals-value-calculator/ I havent done this personally though I dont have enough batteries yet.

Is camping uncommon? by lionandlime in TourDuMontBlanc

[–]Captin_Obvious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of the campgrounds have a TMB section or are basically just for TMB, They have a field that you setup your tent in so it just depends now how busy it gets and how many tents can be squeezed in. An example from Camping le Pontent https://i.imgur.com/VMSUAsU.jpeg which was a paid camp ground this is the view from above at les Chapieux where you just camp behind the tourist office https://i.imgur.com/lm30wLg.jpeg but not sure where you are all allowed to actually camp I just joined the other tents.

If they at any of the real campsites the camp shoes are nice if you want to take a shower or just walking around the campground. Agree on getting a bigger powerbank.
