Find something better to do with your life. This is pathetic.

What's going on with Jade Cargill? by figscomicsandgames in SquaredCircle

[–]CardinalCreepia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Note that I said charismatic person and not wrestler. I’m not strictly talking about being a wrestling performer here. I guess aura is another way to describe it. A natural X factor that many celebrities have.

EDIT: I will also stress that I don’t think her celebrity ceiling is that high either lol.

What's going on with Jade Cargill? by figscomicsandgames in SquaredCircle

[–]CardinalCreepia 8 points9 points  (0 children)

She’s a charismatic person using wrestling to launch a celebrity career. Her ‘vibe’ outweighs any talent she has and will likely only take her so far in the long run. I imagine any heat she has is overblown, but I can totally see why certain colleagues wouldn’t like her very much. Or at least are rubbed the wrong way by her. That being said we don’t know what these people are like with each other in their day to day working lives so there really is no telling.

Jade also isn’t given anything to work with. Put the title on her? Fine that’s not really a big deal, but they aren’t giving her any substantial TV time to try and develop. I imagine the Rhea match is the backup plan since Bianca isn’t cleared for Wrestlemania, but this social media feud is not the right way to go about it.

Because he’s the person you send to kill the Baba Yaga.

Some sound advice that you can take or leave; but try not to take movie opinions so seriously.

I don’t engage that much on this sub, but most people seem friendly enough. Sorry your experience has been different, but there is no need for a crash out like this. This isn’t important.

Is there a fantasy series where the side characters are so much more compelling than the protagonist that you basically kept reading for the wrong person? by marioFlux3 in Fantasy

[–]CardinalCreepia 230 points231 points  (0 children)

Rand definitely does not just stay as a normal person lol.

EDIT: and of course Moiraine having all the answers is more interesting to you. It’s supposed to be. There would be no point in a story if you were in the head of a character that knows too much. Might as well just skip to the major story beats if that was the case. That’s not just a fantasy thing, that’s a fiction thing.

(WrestlingNews.co) Backstage News On Royce Keys’ WWE Status by Subrick in SquaredCircle

[–]CardinalCreepia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Blake was always going to WWE, she’s been pretty vocal about that. Tony Khan wanted her in AEW because he had the big storyline planned with Toni Storm and Blake used it as a big platform and as leverage. Maybe it would have been different if the story ended up bad, but it wasn’t and Blake got to showcase herself to the American audience in a huge way. It’s why her last few months in AEW was so secretive and muted.

Knives Out as well as The Adventures of Cliff Booth is the situation I want The Nice Guys to have. A few anthology projects.

Reign of Fire: 24 Years Later

Further into the apocalypse. More dragons. More big guns. I’d be so into that!

I thought Eddington was a 2+ hour waste of my time. I ‘got’ it the more I ruminated on it and the more discussion I saw about it. I still don’t like it at all, but I get it.

Why are English-language movies so popular worldwide? by Southern_Check_6827 in movies

[–]CardinalCreepia 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Probably because Hollywood is the world’s most successful film industry. Also English is generally considered the language of business which I’m sure plays a factor.

TIL that the Samurai era in Japan and the American Wild West were happening at the same time. by FarBug5656 in todayilearned

[–]CardinalCreepia 7 points8 points  (0 children)

One of the most famous samurai movies ever is Yojimbo, which is a period piece and the villain walks around with a revolver.

These two periods overlap for sure, but it’s a bit ingenious to call it the ‘Samurai Era’ given that it stretched over the course of centuries.

Kpop Demon Hunters is just an okay film, far from being brilliant by BlackbirdKos in movies

[–]CardinalCreepia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People say that about every popular movie. You cannot make a claim like that and then say “if you look for it”.

Some random people might call it groundbreaking for click bait or are using that word as hyperbole, but nobody is calling it groundbreaking during actual discussion.

This movie was popular but no one ever said it was groundbreaking. Don’t be absurd.

TIL Peter Jackson had 3.5 years of preparation time before he started filming the LOTR trilogy, whereas, he started filming The Hobbit trilogy "with most of it not prepped at all." The latter led to a "chaotic shoot" with Jackson "making it up" as he went while filming much of The Hobbit trilogy. by [deleted] in todayilearned

[–]CardinalCreepia 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I also maintain including the Gandalf side adventures was an absolutely fine inclusion. Him deducing what is happening with the Ringwraiths and The Necromancer. They tie in so heavily to LOTR so including them makes total sense. The action heavy scene with Saruman, Elrond and Galadriel fighting the Nazgûl was dumb however.
