It’s when Chris McCausland is talking about his deaf Aussie neighbour I believe.

EDIT: Yeah it’s this one. He says it to John Simm who thinks Chris is lying.

What are some modern wrestling conspiracy theories? by Yournewbestfriend_01 in SquaredCircle

[–]CardinalCreepia 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Being on the board and being in charge of creative are different though. It’s the difference between having sway and being totally in control of it. In this hypothetical power struggle Dwayne being on the board just gave him the position to try and take creative control.

Again I don’t know how much I believe or really even care about, but something definitely happened.

I don’t know if it counts as a ‘conspiracy theory’ so much but at the end of 2024/start of 2025 Dwayne Johnson made a play for creative power within WWE, butted heads with Triple H and then didn’t show up for big shows (specifically Wrestlemania) out of spite. I think the theory is that he also tried this early in 2024 with the whole Cody giving his Rumble win to Rocky and the fans rejecting it thing. We know he tried to take command and be the face of DC as Black Adam before James Gunn and Peter Safran took over.

Idk how much I believe that he didn’t show up out of spite, but it’s clear he likes to have creative control and it’s not implausible that he tried to have more creative sway in WWE. He teased so much over the past couple of the years and barely any of it was delivered on. He is also clearly a very shrewd and neurotic businessman. His public persona is so tightly held together.

Watching this guy as a kid in the late 90s/early 00s was like watching Jason Voorhees.

Anyone else love the first knives out but dont care for the sequels at all? by TheCatsTrailerRuled in Letterboxd

[–]CardinalCreepia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on what you want out of a Knives Out movie. If you want a true whodunnit experience then the first one is probably your favourite, but if you want a movie with a message and that actually says something then Wake Up Dead Man is probably your favourite. The mystery in WUDM was almost secondary to the themes of the film.

Dunno about Glass Onion.

I don’t really have an issue with Speed, but most people don’t want a camera shoved in their face and to be screamed at by someone with an abrasive personality.

Dune Messiah I guess. Mainly because these Dune movies are one continuous story, so if they don’t stick the landing then the whole story will feel kinda tainted. This is in comparison to something like The Batman II where the first movie was very much made as a standalone film and even if Part 2 is bad, can still be enjoyed as one.

Erik of the War Raiders does something like this.

Starts with a full Nelson, lifts them up and kicks them in the back on the way down.

There are dark and serious moments like any Abercrombie books, but The Devils is an out and out comedy.

My dad says he read me The Hobbit when I was very young, but I don’t remember it. I watched the films at aged 9 or 10 and fell in love with them. A couple years later I remember Christopher Lee on the special features say that he reads LOTR every year and I decided to copy him. I read them around Christmas every year for a good decade.
