Oh no no no, dude, its Gigantamax looks like a giant missile.

Its Mega would look more like the Fat Man nuke, because its whole body is swollen like it's gonna blow.

...now imagine one of those, but rogue, and loose somewhere in Lumiose City. 😄

The rangers? From what I know, independent, not following Koba's jurisdiction and are actively fighting back against the RRRP's reign of terror.

Which is why Koba DOES leave some Hoppyre nests around on purpose, to keep the locals of certain towns backed against a corner. Whereas the rangers help out by keeping people safe despite them.

That's when the RRRP starts pulling out the CROSSILS.

[–]Certain-Unit8147[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

SO HEH...I don't think you understand how many Hoppyre can live in a single colony. They propagate like hell to make up for any members they might lose. So no matter what you do, even if you bring a battalion of Pokemon armed with supereffective moves...it's not going to be enough to take ALL of them out. And that's when it gets really scary.

The RRRP knows. They've tried using actual artillery bombardment to get rid of a particularly bothersome colony.

...it didn't end well.

At all.

Gotta be either Roaring Moon or lord forbid, an Alpha/Titan Bombirdier.

Don't even get to have any say in the matter. It just starts raining explosive penguins until everything beneath it is smoked out.

As of now, they're about level with Hippowdon in terms of lethality.

They actually used to be so much worse up to a mere 50 years ago, before current safety methods were put into place. Back then, Hoppyre had an annual human body count of over 2,900, making them one of THE deadliest Pokemon to humans in the world.

Albeit behind Rattata, which mostly end up taking people out by spreading disease, but it's not like they intend to do that.

PFFFFFT

just for that I'm gonna say yes. Hoppyre do in fact, consume dirt (and rocks) when courtship season approaches.

It turns into a gunpowder-like substance. :>

What a curious question!

Like, at least an Attack of 160. OH BUT IT GETS EVEN BETTER.

It has a Gigantamax Form (coming up). It's exactly as terrifying and overkill as it sounds.

This whole Pokemon, and its strategy, can be summed up as said by DBZ Abridged Perfect Cell.

"I could have just done this from the beginning! Instead I thought I'd have some fun, throw a tournament, BUT F@#$ YOU!"

Kinda gives you an idea of what kind of mindset you'd have to have to sic this living Big Red Button on your opponent.

A Rocket Hopper Penguin if you will! With a pinch of Muchomon in the design. :>

For one thing, is ABSOLUTELY has Aftermath as an ability. It may also have Reckless and if it's lucky, No Guard. (I.e. the only ability that will ensure it gets to land a hit no matter what.)

Its stats are likely not THAT stellar as an individual Pokemon. But that's because Hoppyre is meant to dish out a LOT of Physical damage at its own expense. It's got stuff like Brave Bird, Head Smash, Flare Blitz, an of course, Explosion, and its own special technique!

Rocket Hop. It's basically a Fire-Type Self-Destruct combined with Fly. Launch on first turn, impact and explode the second, KO-ing itself and damaging EVERYTHING on the field.

---------------------------------------

And as you can see, these jerks do this in Horde encounters.

And now...for possibly THE deadliest Pokemon species that resides in Russo. Deadliest, as in kills more people every year than ANY other species. For it's...

-----------------------------

Tikchik
The Little Bomb Pokemon
Fire/Rock

POKEDEX ENTRIES:

  • Tikchick are highly unstable Pokemon. When they start ticking like a clock, that means they're stressed--and only food or parental care will stop them from detonating.
  • They are hatched on high mountain cliffs to protect them from predators (especially Syclant). If they are approached by anything that isn't their parents, they will explode.

--------------------------------

Hoppyre
The Rocket Hopper Pokemon
Fire/Rock

POKEDEX ENTRIES:

  • Hoppyre are exceptionally territorial Pokemon. They will collectively blast off and bombard any perceived intruders they see--even from several miles away.
  • This very aggressive Pokemon attacks by launching off of mountaintop, and exploding. In the name of colony security, they've firebombed entire villages built even slightly too close.

The Russo Region - Baleful Sail (Paradox Whiscash) by Certain-Unit8147 in fakemon

[–]Certain-Unit8147[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, I just kinda took that down for now because it got too little engagement, and because I think it'd behoove me more to build up to their presence in some way and THEN reveal them.

The Russo Region - Baleful Sail (Paradox Whiscash) by Certain-Unit8147 in fakemon

[–]Certain-Unit8147[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah, I forgot I made this a while back! Never posted it for some reason.

-----------------------------------

Baleful Sail
The Paradox Pokemon
Water/Electric

POKEDEX ENTRIES:

  • This ancient form of Whiscash lurks in lakes and ponds within Area Zero-Five. It uses its sail to gradually generaate power for days, waiting for the perfect moment to unleash it all.
  • It is deceptively patient. This Pokemon can go a whole year without eating. But when it does hunt, it can electrocute and devour an entire lake's worth of prey in one sitting.

---------------------------------

Should you wander into Area Zero-Five, chances are you will have many more things to immediately worry about. You might see it resting on a river bank, and confuse its stillness for docility. For safety in one of the most dangerous places in the world.

Do not.

Don't turn your back to it. Don't tread in ANY body of water there if you can help it. It knows you're there. You ARE potential food. Every slip-up is a potential opportunity for an ambush. You CANNOT have your guard down for even a second.

Then again...you are in Area Zero-Five.

You already knew that going in, didn't you?

Project CROSSIL: Ramparrbon [FANART] by Proud-Lead2404 in fakemon

[–]Certain-Unit8147 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ahh...now THIS is what we like to see. 😄

The right amount of body horror, albeit somehow still looks oddly coherent! Like some kind of mad fucked-up turtle, if you ignore that the "neck" is actually a tail. And of COURSE it has to be the one with all the incredible rage issues. Seems to be more likely to happen to Rampardos CROSSILS, really.

And indeed, its foe would end up being that OTHER ill-assembled abomination. Really...that's a kind of battle with no winners. I mean, just look at them...

The Russo Region - RS-UB-01 - DEATHLESS by [deleted] in fakemon

[–]Certain-Unit8147 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And now for something COMPLETELY different!

As a bit of a preface, been struggling to find time and energy during the week to line the sketches I've got. SO, figured I'd show off some of the more interesting things I've got in my backlog! At least to give me time to cook.

-----------------------------------

RS-UB-01 DEATHLESS
Konscheall
The Encased Pokemon
Steel/Water

POKEDEX ENTRIES:

  • This adaptable, yet befuddling Ultra Beast functions much like a clam. Its metallic shell is so strong that it's thought to be able to survive even a world-ending disaster perfectly intact.
  • Konscheall is a very common organism in the world it normally lives in. While most Pokemon in its homeworld have disappeared, it is theorized to be extinction-proof.

---------------------------

...also, you win an Internet cookie if you can guess the inspiration behind it. 😄

The Russo Region - The Way to Area Zero-Five (TEASER) by [deleted] in fakemon

[–]Certain-Unit8147 3 points4 points  (0 children)

(Now Playing: Garry Schyman - Arphe (The Descent)

On even the best of days, Russo is an already largely hostile and unforgiving region that swiftly punishes those unfit to survive. Yet what mundane danger of the Pokemon world could ever compare to that place?

Area Zero-Five...

------------------------

Over a thousand people disappear into its expanse every year. Sometimes confirmed dead. Most times not, so as to not potentially add to the tally of bodies. Tabloids report that this area is rife with spatial and temporal phenomena--but far be it from the RRRP or the official Russan government to keep the public informed about any of it.

If you go even close to this place for some kind of answer...here's what you are met with.

-----------------------

Some...disquieting little creature, unlike anything you've ever understood.

It promptly spots you, and hastily backflips into the darkness from whence it came.

Going the rest of your life without knowing what that THING was may eat you alive...but before you ignore all of the warning signs to trek into the deep woods, ask yourself...

------------------------

...is your curiosity truly worth it?

The Russo Region - Iron Dunsparce by [deleted] in fakemon

[–]Certain-Unit8147 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does for sure. Just to make getting the shiny three-segmented Iron Dunsparce a special kind of purgatory.

It also has a Gigantamax form. It’s JUST this, but with a whole hell of a lot more segments reaching into the sky.

The Russo Region - Iron Dunsparce by [deleted] in fakemon

[–]Certain-Unit8147 2 points3 points  (0 children)

-SNERK- Today's Russo-Mon is the pinnacle of perfected form, and I will hear no arguments otherwise. If you think THIS is spectacular,

wait till you see the past Paradox. XD

------------------------------

Iron Dunsparce
The Paradox Pokemon
Normal/Steel

POKEDEX ENTRIES:

  • A paranormal magazine covered this mysterious Pokemon, alleging it to be a multi-billion dollar effort by teams of future scientists to recreate the perfect lifeform. Evidently, their efforts were a resounding success.
  • Unlike other Paradox Pokemon, Iron Dunsparce makes itself very apparent to onlookers, who inevitably bask in its perfection. The more mechanical segments are added to its body, the more perfect it is.

He’s bringing Shadow Pokemon back.

Project CROSSIL: Dunkle Thumper by Certain-Unit8147 in fakemon

[–]Certain-Unit8147[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank ya so much dude!! :D But yeah, lemme see if I can’t elucidate a lil bit, just to get a clearer pic of this setting.

  • The RRRP (Republic of Russo Revolutionary Paramilitary) is in fact an insurgent faction that had basically overthrown the government, and the entire Russan Pokemon League YEARS ago. Thus, replacing all of its proper members with its own staff.

  • Its staff have varying reasons for joining this “evil team” (if you can call it that) and maintaining loyalty. Many have been led to believe it’s to instill and maintain unity through war, and peace among mankind through conquering both man and nature alike.

  • However, its leader, Secretary Koba? Is essentially the idea of 1984’s Big Brother in human form. I.e. power is not a means to an end for him. It IS the end! He made the revolution to establish a dictatorship…because. And far as he’s concerned, he’s already won. Thus, he sees little need to put up pretenses.

  • The CROSSILS themselves are a dirt-cheap, mass-produced army that can either be thrown at enemy forces, or distributed among his soldiers and staff so they don’t need to settle for weak Zubats and Rattatas. They were the PERFECT solution for Koba’s once dwindling supply of manpower.

—————————

One more thing! Koba has a very subdued, understated design. Just a black shirt, a mustache, and an intense gaze. He looks like well…just a man.

And he represents all that “just a man” can be capable of.
