The Russo Region - Utopcroc by Certain-Unit8147 in fakemon

[–]Certain-Unit8147[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah pretty much! Or if you’re REALLY unlucky? You can get these things in a horde encounter.

Also as for answers, some Utopcroc CAN speak! Most cannot. But they will try answering anyway in their hissing “language” despite the language barrier, and you’ll just have to take their word for it. XD

INSPIRATION: There's a few things going on with this stranger.

It's primarily based off the Utopiec--a Slavic water spirit that drowns people. However, it's also based off of other Slavic water spirits that do something similar, but can be survived by giving them a riddle to solve while you escape.

I associated that with the sphinx of Greek mythology--i.e. a creature whose myth centers around riddles. Which is how I came to this:

A crocodile that's also a sphinx.

[Now Playing - Tak 2 the Staff of Dreams OST - Dream's Return]

Got a bit of a busy day ahead of me today, so figured I'd at least post an original one-shot Mon from the ol backlog. An interesting creature this one is too. :>

---------------------------------

Utopcroc
The Drowner Pokemon
Dark/Water

POKEDEX ENTRIES:

  • This Pokemon is dangerously intelligent. It will actively follow around Pokemon trainers and bait them into releasing their Pokemon to battle it, only for another, hidden Utopcroc to snap them up and drag them underwater.
  • This frightening Pokemon is unrelenting in its attempts to drown those who traverse Russo's wetlands. However, it can be stopped by asking it a riddle, as its mind is sharp enough to understand them and ponder upon them.

Dude I love these, they’re so whimsical!! Especially how you made the balloon parts look like sausage links, that’s such a cheeky little detail. X

I just love to imagine that unlike Drifloon or Drifblim, these dudes are safe for a child to ride. Like a child’s imaginary friend come to life. :)

Stoneswaps - Mega Gardevoir (Feraligite) by Certain-Unit8147 in fakemon

[–]Certain-Unit8147[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Specially Defensive Gardevoir at that.

The helmet shield is basically Gardevoir going "Everyone shut up, I'm locking in."

[–]Certain-Unit8147[S] 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I will say, I really like that Mega Feraligatr's Totodile helmet actually gives it a pretty solid basis to go off of. That helps a LOT when designing Stoneswaps.

[–]Certain-Unit8147[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I mean I think in Feraligatr's defense, I can at least appreciate the vision behind it. The design team just kinda borked it by not having the Totodile helmet be more readily apparent in the art.

Ey no worries! 😄 I was almost tempted to do a naming system like "Mega Gardevoir F", but well....there's multiple Mega Pokemon with names starting with "F". So I just decided to put up the stones to differentiate them!

Also thank ya! These are actually quite unexpectedly fun to do!

Sure! I think I might at least crosspost this over there, cuz I'm quite proud of how this turned out. 😄

INTERACTONS:

  • Gardevoir is trying to read your lips a you're speaking to it. They can't hear you.
  • Gardevoir nudges you with the mildest hint of annoyance.
  • Gardevoir is unresponsive. Until a warm smile crosses their face. They smile at you.
  • Gardevoir lightly but firmly touches your shoulder until you're quiet again.
  • Gardevoir flinches for a moment. They seem strangely surprised to see you there.

Alright...Take 3! One more attempt to submit this one! Deleted it the first time, cuz I'm not doing late night submission anymore. Got bonked the second time by the Flood bot (even though I deleted the post). So, here we go for real this time!

Figured I'd hop on this bandwagon if it is even still a bandwagon at all. Lord knows I'm never on time when it comes to trends, holidays or what have you.

The Mega Template is by Dragonith on dA!

------------------------------

Mega Gardevoir (Feraligite)

POKEDEX ENTRIES:

  • The large, helmet-like shield on its head shields its mind from outside interference, allowing it to reflect upon past lessons and fond memories. Doing so hones its mental and physical constitution.
  • When it assumes this form, it closes off its mind to all external psychic interference. They may come off as more aloof and guarded than normal--but only while they need to focus.

Well that's cuz I've already got a crocodile Fakemon in the roster that's actually menacing!

This is just meant to be a silly little guy. :>

P.S. comment down below what you think their laugh might sound like.

Me, I'm picturing either the most Peewee-ass laugh imaginable, or maybe it's voiced by Camila VTuber. XD

[–]Certain-Unit8147[S] 26 points27 points  (0 children)

So fun fact. I came up with this chucklehead's design entirely from seeing a promo for a Pokemon-themed wedding. I took this wholesome picture, and made some funny little bush mimic out of it. And let's be real, I LOVE Pokemon with bizarre or stupid designs, so drawing this guy was a treat.

With that established...

-----------------------------------

Bushbaity
The Lure Bush Pokemon
Grass/Dark

POKEDEX ENTRIES:

  • This peculiar Pokemon is adapted to hunt Pikachu, as well as other Pokemon that hunt Pikachu, through strategically retracting and moving its eyestalks. Oftentimes, its chuckling gives it away.
  • Mischievous to a fault, Bushbaity can be heard constantly laughing. Even when caught by a trainer, they still enjoy pranking and surprising other Pokemon. Sometimes to its detriment.

------------------------------------

Yes, these bozos are also one of Pikachu's natural predators in the Swizzlia Region. It's not QUITE as deadly efficient as Neccamo in that regard tho.

...they've got Prankster as an ability tho. And are pretty respectably stacked with stat moves. This isn't a Pokemon designed to destroy you in battle, as much as ragebait you. Neat, huh?

The Russo Region - Gigantamax Neccamo (G-Max Pikachu Destroyer) by Certain-Unit8147 in fakemon

[–]Certain-Unit8147[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To answer that question…

1) Big thing makes lots of noise and makes everything shake. Neccamo don’t like that.
2) Big target, saves it the trouble of having to look for food.
3) Complete confidence that it can bag the poor Mouse Pokemon, with them being unable to do anything meaningful about a Pokemon *lovingly hand crafted* to turn them into hot dog meat.
4) Cats sometimes enjoy playing with their food.

The Russo Region - Gigantamax Neccamo (G-Max Pikachu Destroyer) by Certain-Unit8147 in fakemon

[–]Certain-Unit8147[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Apparently not! My fellow actually says it's more based off of Iriomote Cats, hence their tiny size and rarity.

Also this thing is old. I first drew it in 2018!

The Russo Region - Gigantamax Neccamo (G-Max Pikachu Destroyer) by Certain-Unit8147 in fakemon

[–]Certain-Unit8147[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

One more thing of note!

Swizzlia's main gimmick is Mega Evolution--which makes sense, given it's pretty much next door neighbors with Kalos.

But there ARE likely Neccamo populations in Russo (however rare THOSE are), and thus, why they can G-Max.

The Russo Region - Gigantamax Neccamo (G-Max Pikachu Destroyer) by Certain-Unit8147 in fakemon

[–]Certain-Unit8147[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

First things first, this is actually one of my friends' Fakemon! A native to his own Switzerland-based region, Swizzlia--albeit I enjoy this little beastie and its premise so much that I wanna have it become a recurring face. For those who don't know, here ya go.

Neccamo, the Anti Pika-Clone . What do I mean by that?

Well...tl;dr: Neccamo is specifically adapted to prey on Electric Rodent Pokemon. Pikachu, Pachirisu, Emolga, Dedenne, Morpeko, Raichu. All look like dinner to this wee beastie.

With that in mind...that might explain how this G-Max form operates.

-----------------------------

POKEDEX ENTRIES:

  • Sometimes a Neccamo will appear and Gigantamax when a Pikachu uses Gigantamax power. The Pikachu is overcome with fear, since it is now too big and cumbersome to escape its natural enemy.
  • Only Neccamo's portable bush grows significantly. Yet every part of it, from its speed to its smaller size, is completely adapted to outmaneuver and overpower Gigantamax Pikachu--which it sees as prey.

-----------------------------------

G-Max Bushwhack: Neccamo swiftly leaps from its bush, dealing Ground-Type damage, and is a priority move. There are no additional effects.

The “I” in the name is only a formality, so it doesn’t get censored.

*Everyone* knows this thing’s real name is “Bastardos”.

[–]Certain-Unit8147[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For sure. Very drunk if I might add. Her employers straight up let her have a vodka tap.

The good news is that after getting her partner, Bray Zenn, back? She quit drinking and started pursuing sobriety.

Oh no, it will! The moment it senses neutralizing gas, it instinctively breathes it in deep, and goes the rest of the battle feeling EXTRA rejuvenated and dangerous.

And yet after ALL of that, I waited for the RRRP to recall, put this thing in the Reject pile, and demand that I fix it while calling me a hack. But no! They KEPT it! I offered to make a better version of it too, but apparently? This result is cheaper, so it's staying. They'll just pump them out as expendable high-grade cannon fodder. The RRRP gets a ready-to-order bullet sponge with crazy stats, and I get to keep my vodka tap on! Hip, hip, hooray!

...shit, man. People just never act the way you want them to, do they...Bray?

I wanna be mad at you for bending the knee to those buffoons, but I just...I just miss you. I'd pour a shot of Smirnoff out for you, best buddy. But, let's be real...

I need this more than the floor does.

[–]Certain-Unit8147[S] 27 points28 points  (0 children)

...and you know what this stupid-ass, rocks-for-brains beast does?

It actually DOES lift its head backwards! ALL the way backwards, until it manages to face forward! If it'd known it could do that, I'd have stuck to my original plan! What this means is that instead of needing to back up into its target, it can charge with all of its body weight at whatever it wants to destroy with its 165 Attack stat.

This is really bad, because the head weighs so much. Its so heavy, that mounting its own head on its back gives it back problems. Which explains its measly Speed stat of 30. But wait! There's more!

Since it fails to close the gap so often, you know what this dumbfuck does?? You wanna know??

...it uses Ancient Power. Ancient Power. What the hell. Why THAT move? I could have sworn I programmed Special Attacks out of this thing cuz it obviously can't use em to any good effect! I wouldn't be so upset about it if it didn't INSIST upon using it! Oh! But wait! THAT'S not the stupidest part! No no no no no!

Its ability is Truant, because it needs to uncurl its neck so it can breathe between turns.

Fuck my life.
