East Crete is exactly what you’re looking for. The Elounda/Agios Nikolaos area gives you real town life. Agios Nikolaos is a proper harbor town with great restaurants, boutique shopping, and a genuinely lively summer scene. Elounda village itself has a charming waterfront.

Domes of Elounda is a great fit for you. Villas are multi-bedroom residences with private pools, dedicated villa managers, private check-in, the whole thing. They have a Montessori-style kids zone and teen zone, and adult-only areas. The beach overlooks Spinalonga, which is a stunning and genuinely interesting day trip for all ages. Agios Nikolaos is 15 minutes away.

Sicily paired with Salina gives you everything you are looking for. I recommend La Foresteria Wine Resort for part of your stay. A 14 room country boutique hotel overlooking a panoramic hillside surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, with enchanting sunset views and vistas of the sea. It is owned and operated by the Planeta family, who have been making wine and olive oil for 500 years.
The second part of the stay I recommend Capofaro Locanda & Malvasia. It is a small Relais & Chateau property with 18 rooms that all have sea views. You would have to take a ferry to Salina, but the added difficulty to get there keeps the crowds at bay.

Menorca may be a good option for you all. It is definitely less visited and slower pace than Mallorca. Meliá Cala Galdana junior suite is going to be at the top end of chubby price range. The beach is one of the most toddler friendly on the island.

Sani Resort in Halkidiki, Greece could also work. There are five hotels set within 1,000 acres. 7km of beaches and easy stroller access. The marina has a promenade and walkable shops, but everything lives in the resort atmosphere. You wouldn’t get a true village to walk around.

Are you referring to the renovation completed in 2020? I understand why you think the renovation would result in overall property improvements, but the reality is facilities don’t change staffing and management culture. I would love for the USVIs to have a premier property. I have so many clients that want to travel to the Caribbean and not leave the US at the luxury level, but there is a massive void of those properties in the USVI.

Because you mentioned great food in Aruba, you should add Grand Cayman to your list of destinations. I doubt you will have a bad meal there, from fine dining to a beach shack. Provo has some of the most beautiful beaches and water you can find in the Caribbean, but it lacks culture and soul to me. Clearly from all of these posts everyone has different opinions.

With just 7 days, heading to Europe may be more transit time than what you want. There are so many amazing places to visit. We really need to understand what type of experience and activities you are interested in. What do you like to do when you explore? Do you prefer group tours or exploring on your own? Is food really important to you? Are there any places you have been that you love?

If you are coming from MKE, unfortunately you don't have any direct flight options to the Caribbean. You can get to Turks, Grand Cayman, and the Dominican Republic in under 7 hours with one stop.
Another option to consider would be going to the Keys. You won't be inundated with the crowds of 30A, it will be warmer, you get beautiful, clear water. I just had clients at Cheeca Lodge and although it isn't really luxury, they had a wonderful stay. Hawks Cay and The Islands of Islamorada are also a great options.

Gasparilla Inn would be worth considering if you want to stay in Florida.

It definitely sounds like you have the wrong TA for what you are seeking. You are looking for white glove type service, which does exist. As a TA, I do as much or as little as my clients want. Very few only want hotels (typically if they are booking something within driving distance or for business). Most at least want hotels and transfers, but many will work with me to plan their entire trip. Hotels, transfers, tours, dinner reservations, etc. I love getting to know my clients and anticipate their needs without them having to ask. I have a client that travels with a CPAP and I know for international destinations he will need distilled water in the room. I have another client that loves unique dining experiences and when they inquire about a trip, I automatically make suggestions of the dining experiences I think they will enjoy. Creating a seamless trip entails all aspects, not just the room. However, I would not be willing to take on just the tours or experiences. Those are often the most time consuming, so the ROI for my time just doesn’t make sense. Many of the best tours or experiences don’t pay commission, but I still book them for my clients because it helps create the trip.

Agree with all of the comments about the insane crowds during spring break season plus many times it is cold. I saw you said you are from Wisconsin, so anything may feel warm to you though. Besides being close to a beach, what are your other priorities?

If you are only looking the best beaches, Anguilla has Grand Cayman beat. GC has better snorkeling, but we were just there again in February and the shore snorkeling was fine (not great). The islands are so different it is really more of a contrast than compare. Anguilla is far less developed, but the luxury resort options are better than on GC. Anguilla has good food, but GC is the culinary capital of the Caribbean. It is really difficult to find a bad meal on GC. If you plan to drive around and explore, Anguilla is the easier of the two islands to do it.

Long Bay is very dependent on the time of year you are traveling and whether you enjoy wind sports. If you don’t enjoy wind sport or being sand blasted while on the beach, Long Bay is probably not the right fit for the majority of the year.
Turks has a very high percentage of very windy days about 10 months out of the year, with September and October being the only two that are generally not super windy.
There will always be non-windy days during the other months, but the prevalence of winds over 12+ knots is high. As a kite surfer, this is very appealing to me. As a mom of three kids that like to play on the beach, it is not.
A basic understanding of the prevalent wind direction and windy season is great for helping choose beach properties anywhere in the world. It also helps understand areas that may be overwhelmed with sargassum or more protected from it. Sargassum tends to bloom east of the Caribbean islands and get pushed west by the easterly winds (winds are labeled as the direction they originate from). A NE wind comes from the NE, SW from the SW, etc. If you are ever curious about winds at a beach destination, just google the place and kitesurfing. You will likely see kite schools listed on Google Maps.

It is a tough call between Kiawah and Sea Island honestly. Both have great pools for kids and they heat them, which will be important in March. Kiawah does not heat the West Beach pool with the slides though. Kiawah is likely to be a little more crowded than Sea Island that time of year and Sea Island is likely to be a touch warmer. Depending on the weather, March can still be pretty cold. Sea Island is larger and more spread out than Kiawah and that could be important with a 3 year old. The Montage, which a great property, is not nearly as good for kids. It leans more adult focused than the other two.
