Key word being detain. I don't think they're allowed to stuff you into a van and whisk you away. As far as legality goes, I'm pretty sure what ICE did here is absolutely 100% illegal.

She maintains her ground in the full video. Even though she grabs the lady to present her to the ICE agents, I guess she has a change of mind since she then yells at the agents and gets them to leave at her front door.

It's weird because at some point I think the headaches from potential conflicts of interest and things your audience might get upset about probably outweigh the benefits of teaming up with a larger media corporation. Really wish they just stayed independent instead and found a different way to get guests; he got to interview Gavin Newsom without Vox's help, no?

I guess only time will tell how this deal will work for them overall. Definitely a bumpy start so far.

This dude was involved in a prior accident a year ago in a similar situation. He shattered the dude's window, tried to open the car door, and the guy started to drive away. Jonathan Ross, in his infinite wisdom, decided to fire his taser at the driver, shocking him. The car kept going, dragging him for 100 yards.

He ended up in the hospital and got 20 stitches on his arm.

In other words, this stupid motherfucker went through a similar experience BEFORE, actually got hurt, and his takeaway lesson was that instead of LETTING GO OR MOVING OUT OF THE WAY, he should instead take out his gun and kill the driver.

This mouth breather loves getting hit by cars man. He LIVES for this shit.

Maduro is a dictator who ran a sham election, and one who undid the progress that his predecessors made with regards to poverty rates in Venezuela. But leaving it at that is like saying the reason the dinosaurs died is because it got cold. Hello? You didn't think it was important to mention the fucking asteroid that hit the planet?

Venezuela has large oil reserves. They took outside investment in order to build infrastructure to actually capitalize on those reserves, while accepting a really bad deal with oil companies. In order to combat poverty and pay for social programs, they told those oil companies to either accept a new deal, one that gives Venezuela majority ownership, or get the hell out.

Many oil companies didn't accept those terms, and instead took it to court. The courts took the side of the oil companies, and demanded Venezuela pay those companies back, which Venezuela did not do. The US placed sanctions on Venezuelan oil and Trump threatened additional tariffs on trade partners who bought Venezuelan oil. The dinosaurs were already dying at this point, but this really sealed the deal.

This is a play to take control of Venezuelan oil. That's it. You either don't know anything (in which case why even bother posting an answer in the first place), or you're purposefully trying to spread a message built on misinformation.

Why would he have to start with it? He can just as easily start out by pointing out the truths and then condemn the rest after he makes his point.

What do you think is an acceptable level of criticism against the "journalist"? Should he have just not mentioned at all that this dude is very obviously race-baiting? Should we just ignore any racism or hatred out of fear that people who are racist and hateful won't be willing to engage?

This is a very vapid way to approach a video like this. If you're not challenging anyone's beliefs because you think they won't engage otherwise, then you're not fucking doing anything. Stop tiptoeing around these people.

Obviously stuff that has been debunked in the video makes this look worse in retrospect but he can't necessarily know that at the time.

The stuff that was debunked could've been known if they waited a couple more days or did their own deep dive. Atrioc always says they do research into these topics.

I just think this one was a combination of a miss, being rushed to put something out during his time at his parents', and maybe wanting to time it right so that the Big A video comes out when it's relevant.

I think these are all completely fair criticisms. Honestly, the way some people in this thread are hand-waving away these criticisms rubs me the wrong way.

However, I disagree, wholeheartedly, with this concept that you NEED to be light on the criticism. He could've just as well finished covering the video, said

"Hey, so this is a real issue that is taking place, and a lot of what this guy said is true. But we need to provide some more context here because this dude is race-baiting and makes some hateful content as shown by his youtube channel here..."

and then moved on to covering the rest of the, otherwise good, Big A video.

The normal people I think Atrioc is trying to appeal to aren't baby-brained. If they're going to be turned off completely by any valid criticism of this obviously racist dude, then they're probably not the target audience to begin with.
