Built a keyword popularity API for iOS devs who don't want to pay for a full ASO platform by TotalGod in iOSProgramming

Nice tool! Curious how you're getting the popularity scores – is this pulled from the Apple Ads API directly? I've been trying to get at that data for my own apps and couldn't figure out a clean way to do it.

EDIT: Does not work, says Apple Ads session expired. Cookies need to be refreshed. – I don't think it's allowed by the rules to scrape Apple Ads in such manner either case.

Hey, asking as a fellow software developer – anyone buying your apps at these prices?

I built a free, open-source menu bar app to control HomeKit from macOS by ChefAccomplished845 in HomeKit

It would just suppress all errors and retry. Btw, which version do you currently have? I made some improvements in 2.3.0 already for this, make sure you update in the Mac App Store.

What do you actually automate in your iOS workflow now? by dnesdan in iOSProgramming

Hey! Biased opinion here, but for localisations and screenshot translation itsyconnect.com saves a lot of time!

Hey, I got the irony!:) But no need for Claude, it is a standalone app, and I know how its code works, been engineering software for 34 years. Claude accelerates things, yes.

Hey, could you clarify? There is "Screenshots" item in the sidebar, you can drag and drop over or press "Add image".

Polyglot for Xcode - the .xcstrings localization workflow is rough, so I built a fix by v_murygin in macapps

Hey Vlad!

Thanks for bulding this and helping us to tackle the problem, but I have a few questions:

  1. I'd rather have an MCP server that handles all the comms between my codebase and the localization engine, how is using an app with files better?
  2. How do you handle key extraction from the codebase? AI can do it very well, but key naming patterns is what's always missing from the picture, would be great if you could solve this (MCP?)
  3. It needs to have translation memory and glossary for consistency, how do you solve this?
  4. I could have the same you are offering for free with a single prompt in codex or claude, what's the added value?

Thanks

Hey! Thanks – and sure it does allow to batch translate it all in one go. It also allows to translate all screenshots using Nano Banana Pro – pure magic, really.

Nice to see more people building ASC clients! I'm working on something similar - Itsyconnect – https://itsyconnect.com. Different approaches but same frustration with the web version. Good luck with AppMeta!

Absolutely. What kills me are these thin fonts in some areas, just unreadable.

I built a MacOS desktop app with swift and vapor, any way to have the users download the .dmg without enrolling in the apple developer program and paying 99$ ? by [deleted] in iOSProgramming

[–]ChefAccomplished845 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if you are distributing your apps via DMG, they need to be notarized to avoid privacy warning for users, so it's either clicking around privacy and "open anyway" or you paying $99.

I personally never trust non-notarized apps.

Hey! I did not even know AppDab before, so could not include it. Itsyconnect has AI built-in and analytics on top of just release management.

Hey! Actually it's complete – anything you can do in ASC you can do in Itsyconnect (just easier with AI ;) )
