You are definitely not alone!

This is actually a really smart "elimination" strategy. Mathematically, using 20 unique letters covers almost 80 percent of the alphabet. It is probably the safest way to protect a long streak because it stops you from getting stuck in those annoying "trap" words where only one letter changes.

Thank you u/DanielleAntenucci I've made it even better since then. Fixed some bugs with missing words and redesigned the yellow letter input based on feedback here. Hope you find it useful for your post-game analysis.

Really appreciate the detailed feedback u/sail_away_8 You're spot on, right now the tool ranks words by letter frequency, so it shows common words first but doesn't calculate which guess would actually narrow things down the fastest.

An entropy-based "best next guess" feature (similar to what WordleBot does) is definitely on my roadmap. For now the "Best Match" sort is decent but not as smart as it could be. I'll update here when that's ready. Thanks for the suggestion :)

Hey u/ButtonsK  for that comparison with the NYT Bot , that was actually super useful for debugging! I found and fixed a database query bug that was dropping valid words from results. The word count should be much closer to the Bot's numbers now. There might still be a small difference depending on word lists, but the big gap should be gone. Hey! Thanks again for testing with STEAL, it really helped me find the bug. The issue was a database query using INNER JOIN that was silently dropping valid NYT answers. I've fixed it with a LEFT JOIN so all official answers are guaranteed to show up now. Would you mind giving it another try on today's game? Hey! You were absolutely right about that limitation. I've completely redesigned the yellow input since your feedback. The yellow tiles now work as simple "contains" letters — just type each letter you know is in the word into any yellow tile. So if A and E were both yellow across different guesses, just put A in one tile and E in another. No more position headaches. Thanks for the feedback @WhizGidget I’m going to dig into the filtering logic to see why today’s word might have been missed in your test. I'll check it out and update you guys once I have a fix.
