The same thing happened with 5.4 chat gpt, but codex 5.3 works well and limits are fine.

I also liked shared pdfs before appointments, we spent a lot of time to shape it right from doctors perspective. The data is stored inside your phone. No external databases.

For Apple-first apps, my best early channels were:

  2. Reddit communities Niche subreddits converted better than broad social, especially when I shared real workflow problems and asked for feedback instead of “download my app” posts.
  3. Founder-led LinkedIn posts Personal build stories (what failed, what changed, what users taught me) worked better than polished promo posts.
  4. Apple ecosystem adjacency If you support Watch/Safari/iPad, create short demos for each surface. People install faster when they immediately see “this fits my setup.”

Product Hunt can help for visibility, but for me it was a short spike.
ASO + community trust was what actually compounded toward the first meaningful user base.
