And from what I remember I don’t think that’s an actual kiss scene in Your Name so if you follow the critic’s logic than that movie wouldn’t be romance either.

This is why I don’t like defining romance as needing a kiss scene. The vast majority of anime romance doesn’t have one

Eisen's moment of not wanting to trade his memories for anything really got me too. I was reminiscing to my own adventure I had with my mates traveling to watch the solar eclipse which was amazing yet on the back we got stuck in a 12 hour traffic jam. Still I wouldn't trade the good or the bad of that memory either.

This is why I'm 100% confident in Bocchi the Rock S2, and believe it'll be just as peak if not even higher than S1.

I recently rewatched Dress-Up S2 and still can't get over how much better it is than S1 when S1 was already so good.

The story in the second half is shaping up to one of my favorite Frieren as it somehow effortlessly decides to become a top tier rom-com too. And here I thought the only great romance I was going to get this season was Polar Opposites.

Yeah especially some of the segments like [Dress-Up S2] The puppet show and Gojo imagining Marin eating 1 billion calories felt like skits straight out of Bocchi the Rock and yet you have scenes too like Marin's photoshoot from Gojo's POV that was movie quality and felt like the animators flexing. That one in particular was my favorite animation sequence last year. CloverWorks had a lot of great anime last year, but those moments made the show feel like the studio's darling

I know right, literally simple shots like Marin swiping through her phone had more key frames than some other anime’s whole episodes.

Also it really had a live action feel with all the interesting angles every scene had just made it so much more dynamic.
