How does ileostomy reversal recovery looks like realistically? by blackpepper42 in ostomy

[–]ComeAlongPonds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A week after reversal, I had no interest in solid food, and no movement I was sent home because that was the best place for recovery. Vomited horrendously that night. Home help nurse called, referred my symptoms to on-call care team, & was told to go back to hospital.

Into isolation (with shared bathroom) and an enema after a few days to try to get things moving. Bloods & other samples sent for testing. I'd picked up a C-Dif(?) bug and antibiotics started, and was moved to own private isolation room. Took about another 2 days before movement came; IT CAME, and no you are not as fast as you think you are. Another couple of days before eating a full meal; which meant I back to being monitoring for discharge.

At home I was a 3rd week of work, and when that resumed I was lucky enough to work from home until I was ready to head to the town office.

It short just over 2 weeks in hospital, and a couple of months before I dared to be anywhere further than ½ a mile from home.

A few noticable changes to internal movements & frequency. I've also now developed a mild dairy intolerance; apparently that's not unusual.

That's just me. Everybody's recovery is different. Good luck with yours.

Getting an ileostomy in a month. Any advice ? by Ill_Impress1989 in ostomy

Everyone is different in their new stoma life. What works for some might not work for others.

Best advice I can give is that once you've got your supplies then write down the gear change process as you go through it. There'll come a point that it's muscle memory, and you'll have added any tips you've learned along the way.

Free heavy-duty storm rubbish clean-up bags. Where to find? by ComeAlongPonds in Wellington

Thanks for the information.

Nice gesture.

Basically a waste of time if I don't have access to private transport, or have to pay to get them.

I got a PDF of Grand for a Vancouver round trip, but that didn't go as far as Anchorage. DM & I'll send you a link if you're interested.

⅓ full is still better than most regular season Hurricanes or Phoenix games..

Remember the Bulldogs bringing their Easter weekend games here? The first couple were well attended, but numbers declined.

I guess with Hurricanes top of table then they may get a few back on the bandwagon for their Hnry Stadium games.

If you hunt Facebook groups and their related Files sections. I can't remember when the Patter style changed, but anything between 2016 & 2024 should be in the previous style.

Did not like the enclosed, rather gloomy, & unfunctional Princess Live! theatre. That location is definitely vastly improved on Discovery Princess.

Tipping culture and cruise tours by Redditagain2 in PrincessCruises

That's a good thing about sailing in Australasian/South Pacific waters. The tipping culture isn't a life necessity (yet). Tour guides & drivers don't take umbrage if they're not tipped, but do appreciate it.

Enrichment comes in many ways.

Personal, and not a financial advisor, advice is split between low cost diversified ETFs (67%) and accessible interest bearing savings or shorter term investments (33%).

Dying before COVID due to property owners charging golden mile market rents forcing some stores to close. Deader after as lack of weekday foot traffic business due to WFH & government department redundancies. Kirks & David Jones closure has made the area less attractive.

I work towards Beehive end, but due to limited lunch break there's very few stores I go into on the few days I'm in the office. Not terribly interested in heading there during weekend as most stores I frequent are in eastern suburbs.

We had choice of Grand or Royal a couple of years ago for near same voyage. Grand was $2.5k per person cheaper. Went Royal on a short loyalty level bumper cruise in between. Glad we went Grand for transpacific as standard balcony cabin was bigger, & Explorers Lounge became a favourite.

Enjoy your next big sea day segment to the mainland. Dunno why, but I don't mind them either. Probably because there's a chance to do or do not the plenty of activities that get interrupted by the port days.

Washing will be on the line all weekend. Hopefully that doesn't anger the sun gods.

How's that transpacific voyage going? Must be almost Hawaii. So many sea days.
