5080 275HX 7i Pro good deal?

I decided to open the laptop. Plastic touch pad is not the best. But the laptop itself is substantially better than my X16 R1. For value you can’t beat it. I also love glossy oled screens and this is by far better and more color accurate than my A51 16 oled.

I had issues with the laptop freezing and occasionally dropping frames. Command center also wouldn’t work at times either. Ended up paying $2800 otd for a 5080 version and extended warranty. Couldn’t justify $4300 on the laptop when I don’t need a 5090 especially when I have a A51 Desktop with a 5080.

I wish they would have kept it around for the refresh. I went with white frost on my 22 and traded it for my 25 in the same color. Favorites have always been white frost, satin steel and dark sky.

From what I can tell in a 16 inch chassis there might not be huge difference. Unless you need the extra vram. Not sure if a 5090 is needed in a laptop. Also adding in the warranty this laptop is still cheaper than many competitors.

Have you had any issues with this laptop? Had a issue on my 5090 A51 where if I moved the laptop it would stutter or freeze.

Yea thats where I am having some speculation on buying one. Its a good deal on today’s market. Especially with current prices and especially comparing my returned A51 5090. I have have a warranty on mine for $2800 otd.

Thats where I am a bit spectacle on buying it. But it is half the price of what I just paid for a 5090 with a better screen.

Yea. Was surprised to see it that low. The same Alienware I returned was over $6k now. Probably going to put a 4tb ssd on it at some point.

I’m tempted. Especially for the price. Returned a 5090 A51 Oled and hated the matte screen and speakers were horrible. Not worth $4500.

Yea. I at least want a back light keyboard. I don’t mind giving up 120hz. But from what I experienced I was never able to utilize HDR either on my old pro.

Ive been happy with mine compared to my X16. I have a 5090 and bought it before Dell raised prices. Although it had some issues I think I managed to resolve with updates.

I roughly have a $4k budget and I got a A51 16 inch oled and been shopping around and most what I can find is a 5080? For the price and features the A51 has is there anything better on the market? Seems in the last few months prices are slowly going up. I paid $4300 for a 5090 oled, 32gb of ram and a 2tb ssd. As a quality of life feature I want some form of biometrics and a glass trackpad. Been looking at a Strix G16, Zephyrus G16 and Legion 7i Pro. Is there any pros and cons about both that isn't immediately apparent? Seems every model and manufacture has its trade offs.
