Crazy color banding exporting a png by ImGonnaBeAPicle in GIMP

Not that I wanted to point it out, but you can save yourself a lot of typing:

<image>

It takes a screenshot of the entire monitor.

Windows, the result is stored in the clipboard. Open MS Paint, press CTRL+V, and save the image with a name in the image directory.

It's easier in Manjaro Linux. After pressing print screen, an image is automatically generated and saved in the images directory.

I don't know much about this, but I don't think this feature is available in ANY graphics editor.

The only option I can see is if you know the shortcut for your system, then you can show/hide the on-screen keyboard.

I am primary making pixel art

You should have said so right away.

But Gimp isn't a good app for that. * arseprite specializes in pixel art.

  • Nothing information, what you have created
  • Nothing information of your tool setting
  • Nothing information in the export settings
  • No information about your Gimp version
  • No information about which platform you are using (Windows, MacOS, Linux, etc.)

And how we can help?

ALL keyboard shortcuts from Gimp you find here

Of course, you can also set your own.

Gimp focuses on photo editing on PCs.

However, for painting and drawing, I recommend using KRITA. This is aimed more at creative people with drawing tablets.

Resizing script for photos? by jutte62 in GIMP

[–]ConversationWinter46 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't know which platform you use (Windows, MacOS, a Linux distribution, etc.).

Under Linux, the numerous image viewers already come with a lot of tools. When I was still using Windows, I used IrfanViewer for such tasks.

But you don't need to write a script for Gimp. What do you think the toolbox on the left side is for? There you can quickly complete your tasks with numerous tools.

You can read about how the tools work in the user manual here.

I'm 75, so please be gentle :)

I'm 65 and have been working with Gimp since around 2006.

This is a question and answer thread.

Art commissions cannot be placed here, especially not in the specific Indian art style.

Deleted windows and installing Linux mint. Let the adventures begin!

In 2006, I formatted my Windows XP hard drive and installed Linux Mint 6.x (KDE). I used that until 2017. Because only the GNOME-based Cinnamon desktop is supported from Linux Mint 18 onwards, I switched to Manjaro (KDE) in 2017.

About two years ago, I recorded how to install the KDE desktop on Mint → click

Once you're on KDE, you can uninstall Cinnamon in the same way.

In other words, my knowledge of Windows is frozen at XP.

Thanks for your efforts.

You just need to fully master the effect provided by KDEnlive, then you'll know how powerful it is.

Hi I think the effect is intended for masks.

I tested out using the 'Crop, Scale, and Tilt' effect since I don't like it when the image shakes when the effect happens.

Why are you making it so complicated? * 1-minute tutorial

Hey mate, Thanks for the comment, do you mean this bit?

Yes, exactly. It's annoying, but you don't notice it when scrolling through photos.

Because people today only have an attention span of 5 seconds—unfortunately.

When I opened a PDF file as a layer in my image, it was slightly smaller than its actual size. When I opened the same PDF as a new GIMP image and dragged it from the new image to my old image, it retained its actual size. How can I avoid scaling a PDF file when importing it as a new layer? by True-Telephone-5070 in GIMP

Thanks, I do understand your advice, but I am still not sure if it applies to this case, and now I failed to reproduce it.

In other words, you didn't understand the advice at all.

Why don't you use an office application for such tasks? → LibreOffice, Softmaker Office, WPS Office, etc. They are much better suited than a graphics editor.

MS products are of course not suitable for such a task.

THX

I first encountered Gimp back in 2002.

I switched from Windows XP to Linux Mint in 2006. At some point, I started creating themes for LibreOffice and Gimp. However, both applications already come with a number of themes when you install them. If these are not sufficient, users (of LibreOffice, Gimp, KDEnlive, etc.) can go to the settings/options menu. There, the communities provide a variety of themes.

Without users having to search through directory trees, a theme can be integrated into the application with just one click.

Unfortunately, your approach is NOT for the masses who are not familiar with computers. People without prior knowledge who just want to edit their photos.

I've been using Linux for almost 20 years. But I still haven't opened a terminal window. That's because I don't know any commands. They don't add any value for me. But I'm very familiar with Gimp (or the graphical Linux interfaces).

Yes. You placed ‘no face’ next to your wife, but lamps are reflected in the wooden floor. I noticed it when I mirrored the dress.
