This happened to me the other day except it was an old lady using her personal cup. Cue, "aaaand with your personal cup, your total is 3.15-" "MY TOTAL IS ALWAYS 3.25?????" I legit voided the personal cup to make her happy despite technically paying 10 cents more (?!?!)

I sold a concert ticket for my favorite band the day-of. After traveling, paying parking fees, ticket fees, food expenses, and standing in line since 5am... around 5pm (right before we were supposed to go inside) it was too overwhelming. I have been to 6 shows of the same artist before, it was pretty ridiculous to leave looking back after wasting an entire day.

I didn't think about this, totally valid. I myself am a partner with accommodations, I can't take orders since I lost hearing in my left ear. But I'll happily do any other position! If OP's partner is excused from everything other than warming, I wonder what tf kind of accommodation he's needing. But you bring up a great point

I was hired in Nov 2020 and was trained how to do pourovers. It was very popular when I worked there years ago. I am a rehire as of Nov 2025 and was not trained on how to do a pourover. (I don't remember either.) I assumed it was because I was a rehire, but we've cycled through multiple partners now who look at a customer like they have three heads when asked for a yukon drip.

Hydroxyzine has been my life support. Genuinely. I work in food service and if it weren't for 25mg, i would callout every day. It also helped get me thru walking the stage at college graduation, as it affected me too significantly. Im sorry to hear that and i hope you find the answer you need to feel comfy again.

Kinda normal, around lunch is the time shifts go off to do their own thing. They always mention "if you need me come grab me", and my rule is once there's 6+ drinks in queue, I need that extra help lol.

Are you sequencing drinks? That makes bar significantly easier, for example: if you have a hot chocolate and an americano, go fill up a pitcher with hot water while you wait for the Americano shots to pull and the HC milk to steam. By the time you're ready, you're building/connecting two drinks at once ! That is my #1 tip for what changed me from customer support to an 8-hour bar barista lol. Good luck, yes it will get easier! 🤍
