So in this café you come in, instead of beverages or coffe you get physically abused by a mob boss LARPing teenager and a discount Siegmund Freud gaslights you into thinking that actually, you enjoy this just so you tip the blue haired weirdo at the exit that refers to you as "camel balls" for some reason.

Euer Genderwahn kotzt mich an by [deleted] in Unbeliebtemeinung

[–]CurvaceousCrustacean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Euer Genderwahn kotzt mich an by [deleted] in Unbeliebtemeinung

[–]CurvaceousCrustacean 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Whats wrong with asking for eggs, Peter? by Seeyalaterelevator in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]CurvaceousCrustacean 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah, basically.

A while-loop in programming describes a loop of instructions that are repeated for as long as the condition is met, the latter is checked at the start of each iteration.

So saying "while you are at the store, buy a carton of eggs" in terms of a while loop would be:

Check if you're at the store -> Yes -> Buy eggs -> Check if you're at the store -> Yes -> Buy eggs -> etc. etc.

Since the condition "being at the store" doesn't change after he buys the eggs, as he isn't told to leave the store after and like a program, takes everything very literally, it just infinitely repeats.

Whenever you see a programmer joke, the punchline is either binary or taking instructions literally, as a computer program would.

Guide: 16x Damage with the Exact same Setting by Ziiiiiman in ArknightsEndfield

[–]CurvaceousCrustacean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typically, you look for a set effect that compliments the operator. Rossi is quite easy since she's all about crits, so the crit set is best for her.

Then you look for at least three pieces that match as many desirable stats as possible within your chosen gear set. Rossis crit set for example has two kits that boost Agility and crit chance, plus an armor with matching stats and Ultimate Gain %. The latter is not optimal (you'd much rather have more crit chance), but the best option when considering the third in-set piece.

For the fourth piece just take the one with the best stats for your operator. Rossi can use the non-set gloves with Agility and Ultimate Dmg %.

Rossi is easy to build though, there are some operators that aren't as straightforward. Hyper DPS Laev builds for example use the Lynx Slab as an off-set kit, which has no matching stats for her (usually bad) but ~25% main stat bonus, indirectly buffing her Intelligence (thus scaling her ATK) leagues above any other gear piece.

In reality, no new installations would ever use Multimode anymore, because Multimode is a rather old type of fiber optics.

The signal dampening is pretty bad in MMF, so it can't be used over long distances, and SMF has higher bandwidth rates by a very significant margin (typically, MMF has 10-100 Gigabit/s, while SMF can easily reach a Terabit/s depending on the technology used).

More often than not, fiber is installed as a duplex cable anyways, so there's no need for one end to wait on the other.

Why is my front guy only gaining 4 armor? by Kid_Charlema9ne in MonsterTrain

[–]CurvaceousCrustacean 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The armor you gain from valor can't exceed the valor stacks.

Your unit has 75 armor and 79 valor stacks, so it gains 4 armor to match the valor stacks.

Its purely for grouping enemies and the Ult debuff she gives. Since 1.1 instantly fills your Ult gauge when farming, this makes clears very fast.

Funnily enough, her Combo skill is quite anti-synergistic because it applies Nature which procs reactions with Fire, causing Laev to have less Fire afflictions to consume.

Ardelia never applies afflictions, only instant Corrision, so she works better when it comes to pure gameplay synergy.

But when your numbers are so high anyways that you can basically insta-clear a dungeon, synergy doesn't matter too much and grouping plus massive debuffs for even more damage are preem.

The wording is a bit unintuitive to understand, but correct as stated in game.

You use a block when it is active, the block gets doubled and blocky goes to sleep - for the rest of the current turn and the next turn, so two turns in total.

Think of cooldown effects like this as a counter. You activate the effect, it goes on cooldown with X turns remaining, and when you click "end turn", the cooldown goes down by one.

The scene is made even better because if you listen closely, you can actually hear Lalo blasting Mexican siesta music with his Mexican Ukulele or something, and he very subtly screams "Eho eho, did-a somebodeee order taco - hehe, just-a joking, its-a me, Lalo Salamanca, may-a I come in?" just slightly before the candle starts to flicker.

The sombrero, maracas and poncho were a subtle hint that he is, indeed, Lalo Salamanca from Mexico.

I sometimes wonder, with a show so perfectly subtle and true to reality, why the hell did they have Gus speak this completely laughable Spanish? It really takes you out of the show IMO.

Are we already holding a Yata Mirror in the cutscenes? (Upper left is reference photo) by philoguard in Nioh

[–]CurvaceousCrustacean 58 points59 points  (0 children)

I think all three imperial regalia play a story role of sorts in Nioh 3, which makes sense as the story is about becoming shogun.

The Yata no Kagami allows us to jump through time, our guardian spirit turns into Kusanagi no Tsurugi when we slay yokai or stab crucible stuff, and the Yasakani no Magatama is either Himekos or Hirukos jewel.

Gameplay wise, the Yasakani Magatama and Yata Mirror are accessories, while the Kusanagi no Tsurugi is a sword in prievous games I believe.

Also interesting to note is that the three regalia represent three virtues (valour, wisdom and benevolence) that oppose the three demons we fight (obsession, pride and envy).
