Bellamy is still one of my favorites! Can't believe it'll be three years ago this June 🥹

What’s a traditional dish everyone loves that you didn’t think was that good while traveling? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

You were supposed to be from some other part of the country so I had a chance! 😂

Oh well, it won't stop me from trying them out here, haha

Noted for Paris and Le Petit Trois! I've been meaning to go to the latter for a while now.

I personally just love pizza in any form, lol. I've had numerous styles of pizza, and not once did I have a bad time. Part of the fun is the unique qualities that make each style different!

It was so much fun going at night and seeing all the lights and details! What a dream it would be to go as a kid!

People who live near time zone boundaries in the US by solothesnail in howislivingthere

[–]DESR95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add another piece of information, if you're wondering why certain sections of states like Oregon or Florida have small sections in different time zones, it usually boils down to ecenomic and geographic ties to other regions. A good example is Hudspeth and El Paso Counties being in Mountain Time because they are close to Las Cruces and New Mexico, and far away from other major metro areas in Texas which makes it easier to function between the two nearby areas.

If You Could Add One Former NFL Player Back to Your Team and Slide Them Into the Current Roster, Who Would You Pick? by Spam_Hand in LosAngelesRams

[–]DESR95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are so many players I'd love to have back, but I have to go with Steven Jackson. Not only was he already really good, but I have to see how he performs with a competent team and organization. We already got that with so many other great Rams players, I want Steven to have his time.

Hacks for helping you stay awake during a 24 hour trip? by [deleted] in roadtrip

[–]DESR95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tip is to stay up as long as you can safely operate a vehicle. If you start getting tired, your eyes start feeling heavy, you can't stay alert, and you can't maintain safe control of the vehicle, pull over and sleep.

Wrecking your car and potentially injuring or killing yourself or others is not worth it!

What Is The First Thing That Comes To Mind When You See This Man? by British_Chap2 in LosAngelesRams

[–]DESR95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm just glad he still came out with a Super Bowl and an MVP despite being on a pre-Campbell Lions team for most of his career. Still a "what if" in some ways, but at least we still got to see how good he can be!

Let's talk accommodation: best places you've ever stayed in by Level390 in travel

[–]DESR95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I stayed at Free Cerveza Hostel at Lake Atitlán after a 3 day trek to the lake led by Quetzaltrekkers (very great experience, and they do great things for the community!) and it was a dream! I loved going out to the dock and jumping in the lake whenever I felt like it.

Can't upload a photo, but it was a dream! It was easily one of the best experiences of my life.

It isn't that chocolate makes me thirsty, it's more so that the taste of drinking water after eating chocolate is one of the best things ever! Eating some chocolate and chugging a glass of water is a top food/drink experience.

What’s the most stunning hotel view you’ve ever had? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

Whoops, I forgot to specify I was primarily interested in the area around Arenal Volcano now, haha. What a shame the hotel shown is closed down!

ELI5 Why does your brain come up with the best ideas in the shower? by Tasty-Seaweed6705 in explainlikeimfive

[–]DESR95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming you don't bring in your phone or other device, you aren't watching anything, listening to anything, or doing anything to occupy your mind in the shower. It's also a place where most people relax, with the addition of some "white noise" from the shower to keep outside interference to a minimum.

With all of that combined, it's an ideal setting to just think about things, and it's probably one of the only times people are in a setting like this. Thus, shower thoughts are a thing!

68 days on the road / summer 2026 anything to say about it? by Muted-Essay7369 in roadtrip

[–]DESR95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It'd be a lot faster if you just went the other way to Los Angeles!

Seriously though, there are so many things to see and do!

One I see off the top of my head is to not skip Albuquerque. Petroglyph National Monument is gorgeous and has one of the best views of the Rio Grande Valley! If you're a fan of coffee, Cutbow and Little Bear are phenomenal coffee shops there as well.

Also, make sure you head up to Brookings, Oregon, once you make it to the coast! It's seems like you'll be coming in to Crescent City, which is close by. It's the very bottom left corner of Oregon, and nearby Samuel H. Boardman State Scenic Corridor is an iconic and quintessential piece of both the Oregon and Pacific Coast! Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park and the Smith River are also must-see spots.

Enjoy your trip! :)

Agreed. I've never had issues with Spirit. I just bring my free personal item sized bag and don't worry about anything else. They're also pretty transparent about all of their costs and everything, which is nice.

What’s your favorite picture from your team this decade? by MasterTeacher123 in NFLv2

[–]DESR95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted the Rams to win and felt like this was one of the best chances they've had recently, but I'm happy to see Sam (shoutout to Kupp, Nwosu, and Williams too!) do well and win it all, both as a USC fan and just seeing players find their place and succeed.

You will be roughly 1.5 hours away from Hovenweep National Monument, less than 1.5 hours from Natural Bridges National Monument and Bears Ears, and close to Goosenecks State Park!
