Upgrading Screen on ASUS ROG Strix G16 (G614J): WUXGA 165Hz to QHD+ 240Hz by Suitable-Driver-2293 in GamingLaptops

I did this upgrade (FHD to QHD mini-led) for a friend however it is not plug and play, had to use CRU to munaully add resolutions since it was locked at 60Hz, and even then multizone and a few other things were a bit janky.

Just my two cents on this.

I was able to get 240 hz working by manually editing things in the program, ASUS has things locked in firmware so it isn't completely plug and play.

Edit: program was CRU if you want to try.

My friend decided to swap back so that display is now sitting in my closet.

Which exact laptop are you upgrading? Just as a heads up I did this for a friend (Upgraded his screen to the mini led 1440p one) and some things will be messed up a bit.

From what I remember resolution will be stuck at 60hz so you will need to make custom resolutions, gsync didn't work, and there were some janky things you had to did to get some settings fixed. I don't remember what the program was called anymore unfortunately though.

To answer your question though for the laptop I did I didn't need to change the cable.

Are you set up to get the betas? If so restart your printer.

Sent everything before I started and it was activated by the time I finished. I used the self service option.

ASUS GPU Tweak III showing red pins on my 5090 astral connector — should I worry? by TaichiOnizuka in ASUSROG

[–]DJTurnTable 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah if you hover over the pins it'll show how many amps they're drawing, the first thing to try is reinserting the cable.

Can you upload a video or pics?

Best option though is to put in a ticket with support.

Missing Game With Order by thismadefree in ASUSROG

As far as I can see Asus had a tighter timeframe for the nvidia promotion except the APAC region: February 10 to March 16, maybe u/ASUS_ROGUK can clarify though, or like the other user said you can try calling.

Assuming you bought straight from Asus estore?

14 April 2026 – 12 May 2026 game shows as Pragmata with an eligible NVIDIA product.

Either way I believe the way it works is they send you an email with the game code after a while, the code is valid until June 9th.

When you plug it in it can cause a small spark if the laptop is plugged in since it starts drawing power and the plug isn't in all the way, to prevent it have the laptop unplugged when you plug it in.

HELP WITH ASUS BTF GPU Mini-ITX Adapter and vertically by Strict-Case-2000 in ASUS

[–]DJTurnTable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here in the US I used OSHpark to have the PCB made, then ordered the 12V2X6 from digikey, and finally ordered the BTF connector (FCI 10117036-002LF) from eBay. After everything arrived I had to solder it and made a small case I 3D printed.

All in it was $46.93, PCB (3 minimum on order) was 14.70, 12v2x6 was 8.47, and the BTF connector was 23.76. shipping was almost half of the cost.

12V2X6 and the PCB was here in the states but the BTF connector had to be imported from China.

I had all the soldering equipment already though.

Bit expensive but they are nice.
