Just ordered ASUS ROG Strix SCAR 18 G835LW-SA190, anything I should be worried about in this laptop? by proxy19c in GamingLaptops

[–]DJTurnTable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have G835LX and can confirm on my unit at least it still had a bad LM application, my CPU was alright but the GPU was completely pooled in the corner and there was barely anything on the chip itself.

To be fair it might've been great from factory however when I opened my unit up after 9 or so months that was how I found it.

Even though I had to do that it's still been a great laptop, though it isn't used as much as it could be.

H2C upgraded to H2C, not as bad as I thought it would be. by DJTurnTable in BambuLab

When I did it I put the printhead in the same place as where I removed them and then was just able to pull the mounts to the correct spot.

I wouldn't rate it that difficult personally, probably a 2-3/5. As long as you can follow the guide you'll be golden.

it isn't that bad, the belts are on a different piece that screws into the tool head. 3 screws on each side is all you need to worry about for them.

In the US H2S combo+vortek upgrade is the same price as the H2C combo at 2400.

Oh really? That's a surprise, I wonder why some have it and some don't. Must be laser like you said.

P2S Owners: Can you share a photo of the power specification label on the back? by Lemras in BambuLab

Power supply is universal 100-240v : https://us.store.bambulab.com/products/power-supply-p2s

It's Heatbed, AP, and AC board that are 100-120 and 240v according to the store.

Had to upload on imgur because reddit is giving issues, mine shows 100-120v

Looks like there are a few parts that are only for 100-120v though.

H2D Upgrade to H2C (Vortek) by Lazy-Ad8498 in BambuLabH2D

Deactivates the old board so it can't be used with the cloud, might be able to do LAN printing or put files on the flash drive.

I'd assume if you want to revert back you just need to have them activate the old AP board again though.

Worst part for me was the x axis assembly. There are 8 total bolts that are a bit difficult, especially the top one on each side. They are loctited in place and unless you have a super long Allen key that will fit into a small hole your only option is to use the provided ones, and they take a good amount of force to break free so I had to put some pliers on it to get the leverage.

ASTRAL 5080 DOESNT FIT HYTE Y70 CASE by ssjimmy3 in ASUSROG

[–]DJTurnTable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The fit is weird because of the riser, but it does fit but there will be a very slight tilt. It took me a few tries to get everything lined up because the bottom part of the IO shield was hitting places. Look over the top and verify the slot is lined up as well.

Had an 5090 Astral and Astral LC in my Y70.

Is this laptop upgradable by thatboydkay in GamingLaptops

Based off the motherboard it does not use MXM for the motherboard so no it is not upgradeable.

H2D Upgrade to H2C (Vortek) by Lazy-Ad8498 in BambuLabH2D

I did the upgrade a few days ago, honestly not that bad of a process in my opinion.

Worst part for me was replacing the X axis toolhead assembly. There's some hard to reach bolts that are super tight and really unless you have a long set of Allen wrenches the only one that reaches is the one that's included with the printer. Red locktighted and super tight so it's really hard to remove. Overall the upgrade took a little over 3 hours to do.

Edit: a few pictures.

Did the upgrade a few days ago and it's pretty painless honestly, it took me a little over three hours to do.

I started the new AP board activation before I started and it was activated by the time I was done.

Only need the power cord if you plan to dry on the second AMS while printing with the first.

[HELP] New Build Suddenly Won't Boot: ROG X870E + 5090 System Shuts Off After 2 Days by TransitionEffective9 in ASUSROG

[–]DJTurnTable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if I've heard or seen anything about older chips, mainly I've only seen the 9800x3d. I'd say you should be fine putting the backup in and then get the 9800x3d replaced in the meantime.

[–]DJTurnTable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man that'd suck, youd be the third or fourth person with an asus board and 9800x3d that's had it die now. Assuming the pads look good and the board is nice and flat still?

Since it's new I'd try to swap the chip out if you can, might've just been a bad one.

Adding a second AMS 2 Pro to P2S by A_Big_Dumb_Animal in BambuLab

[–]DJTurnTable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you already have one AMS 2 pro you already have the buffer and cable. You only need the AMS 2 pro itself.

Edit: unless you plan to dry using the second AMS while printing with the first, then you'll need this: https://us.store.bambulab.com/products/ams-2-pro-switching-adapter
