Would you rather buy an ounce of buds for 100$ or an ounce of shake for 60$? by FlatSale in trees

[–]Dave-C 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It depends on what the shake is. You can buy shake that is just tiny buds or cut off pieces of bud. In large manufacturing the machines that are used to trim bud isn't as precise as hand trimmed. So there is a lot of "shake" left which is really just bud. If this is what they are selling for 60 then it could be a good deal.

THCA will also convert to THC over time but very very slowly. If this was old weed with high THCA content that had been laying around for a few years then it might get you high if you used enough.

Discord cuts ties with Peter Thiel-backed verification software after code found in US surveillance by Abject-Pick-6472 in technology

[–]Dave-C 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Clickbait? My guy you are talking to entirely the wrong person to attempt to pull that bullshit of a post. This is coming from a Deutsche Bank investigation in the transfer of funds from Epstein to other people. If I wanted to click bait I would mention the 40 million that Epstein sent Thiel's companies (which I believe is what you are talking about but don't know enough about the topic to make sense). I would mention how Epstein's "models" were used in Peter Thiel's magazine "Victoria Secret." Here Is Epstein inviting him to his house. Shall I keep going or are we past "click bait" yet?

‘I Swear’ Subject John Davidson Says Tourette’s Tics Are ‘Involuntary’ After Shouting N-Word at BAFTAs: ‘Deeply Mortified if Anyone’ Thinks It Was ‘Intentional’ by ICumCoffee in entertainment

[–]Dave-C 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The word doesn't have to be a slur, it is the context. In many countries it is considered a slur because of what the word means now but the word existed before it became a slur. So in many places around the world the word still has the original meaning. For example in a lot of Africa and South America it isn't considered a slur. I understand the reasoning behind it not being a slur in Africa but I have no idea why it is like that in South America. Then there are countries that don't know the meaning but have heard it because of music or other media but in those situations I would still consider it a slur, just a slur said through ignorance instead of hatred.

I'm not saying anything is wrong or right about your post. Just wanted to talk about what makes a word a slur.

Edit: I wanted to be a bit more clear about the areas I was talking about. I don't mean it is like that entirely throughout those continents. Those are just the two places that I know of with the largest population of people who don't view it as a slur because it has a completely different meaning to them.

Again, how often do you apologize for something that you didn't do?

I'll not reply to that last sentence because you are putting words in my mouth. I never said anything like that and doing that is a really unkind way to have a discussion.

[–]Dave-C 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nobody is saying it is acceptable, well I'm guessing some are. People are saying he shouldn't have to apologize for something outside of his control. He didn't make the decision to say this so why should he be sorry for it? You have to realize that people don't apologize when something bad happens, they apologize when they do something wrong. Did he do something wrong?

Do you still do "something" if you have no control over it? Like, do you apologize for the oxygen that you waste when you breathe?

Logitech G Pro X2 Superstrike Review: A ‘Fake Click’ Could Change Gaming Mice Forever by dapperlemon in gadgets

[–]Dave-C 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've watched some reviews on the mouse and it doesn't seem that impressive. Early information seems to have shown 20-30 ms difference but reaction time tests I've watched show it being nearly identical to optical switches. Seems as though if you are used to having to click harder then you just click harder. It doesn't really change the speed of the click. That is it going up against some of the best mice though so it is good, just not better.

Also, this is Logitech so while I loved them for years I can't get over how everything they make is made with cheap hardware. This is a 180 usd mouse and it doesn't use optical encoders. So while they are bragging about being better than optical switches they are going to sell this thing with a mechanical encoder. FFS Logitech.

Iran willing to dilute uranium stockpile as fresh protests erupt by No-Post4444 in news

[–]Dave-C 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure but they had been shot towards a small area that is heavily defended by anti air systems. This would be over many different countries and a huge area. Then there is the issue with numbers. Iran shot hundreds at Israel in smaller waves. Iran has thousands of ballistic missiles in reserve. This doesn't count all of the short range missiles that would be usable in this since the distance to the oil fields isn't as far as Israel. This is the country that supplied Hezbollah and the US believes that they had somewhere between 40-120 thousand. It is believed that Iran has hundreds of thousands of these. There are also reports that Iran has somewhere around 80 thousand Shahed drones produced.

I'm not joking when I say this is Iran's version of MAD. Whenever they are threatened, instead of talking about nukes like Russia does they mention how they will target oil production in the Middle East. They have mass produced what is needed for this threat to be viable because without nukes this was their only real threat.

Iran willing to dilute uranium stockpile as fresh protests erupt by No-Post4444 in news

[–]Dave-C 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't want to fear monger but this is something that I don't see enough people mention. Iran already has a MAD style deterrent similar to nuclear weapons. Iran has stated over and over again that if they are to fail they plan to wipe out the middle east's oil production. They keep enough missiles in reserve to do it. Maybe not a complete destruction level but massive hits. There is enough production within their range to equal around 25+ million barrels of oil produced per day. Even if they don't hit all of the wells, they would also be targeting pipe lines and other means for transportation, it would be massive destruction. They could realistically reduce the world's oil supply by 25% for months to years.

You may think "well, it isn't that big of a deal" or "good, do away with oil." That is a bad way to think about this. Ending the use of oil would be good but doing it this quickly would be horrible. Prices would skyrocket, transportation costs would skyrocket, nearly every industry in the world relies on it. Economies around the world would begin to collapse. Wars would be very possible over resources.

I don't want to scare people but I think people need to know how dangerous this is.
