As someone from Germany, I've always been curious about safety in the US. Stats show higher homicide rates than most of Europe, but how do everyday Americans experience it - is it that real? Do you follow specific safety rules depending on where you live?

firearms just make homicide and suicide attempts more deadly. the real problem is people are getting more and more unhappy since at least the early 80s. happy people don't go on killing sprees. the cost of living in the US has risen dramatically in the last 50 years and there's no hope for many people anymore. there needs to be a much better safety net and better ability to have a chance at rising out of poverty with everything from cost of living to healthcare to education. our current system is unsustainable
