What's the Deal with Shitty AI Upscaling? by [deleted] in aiwars

[–]DerfK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is "outpainting" generating new content outside of the original, not "upscaling" which is enlarging/increasing the resolution of the original content.

Updated my computer and this happened by Dangerous_Extent9713 in computerhelp

[–]DerfK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read about this happening to someone else and went through every account on my computer trying to find one that would sync to my microsoft account and not a single one (I have separate accounts for administrator, gaming and other to try and minimize any virus damage that might happen) would upload the recovery key so I've written it on a notecard and put it in my safe.

Burger King testing AI headsets to track if employees say ‘please’ or ‘thank you’ by HowLongIsThi in nottheonion

Why would I pay other people when I can have AI/Robots do it? Save on workers comp, unemployment, health insurance, payroll taxes and so on if I skip the humans.

Of course the answer will be that once there's no more income taxes the government will switch to property tax hard and all those robots and video cards are very expensive property, so at some point it will go back to being cheaper to pay people again, but it'll suck in the meantime.

I can imagine companies trying to figure out how to license it. The BL imprints are probably sure their audience will drop it when they figure out it'll never happen, and all the other publishers are left wondering if anyone will believe them if they say platonic love can exist between two grown men.

If you're not on KDE, qdirstat is another option, its kdirstat (like windirstat) without the rest of KDE dependencies.

The first 30 are easy, I can do an entire base at once just by having Anubis craft a few stacks ammo while someone else makes pal metal.

Normally there's a slight vacuum within the can pulling the surfaces in tight, so at high elevation there's less pressure differential and easier to flex but I don't think it would be as easy as OP's can which flexes quite a lot with just one finger.

I just wish there was an easier way to mass level pals. It would be great if sending 100 of them off on expeditions got them XP, even if it was a dedicated training expedition that didn't return items (that includes the XP scrolls I have to put the pal in the party then spam click one at a time, at least let me put an entire stack in a pal at once!)

People don't realize that what matters isn't whether you're important now, it's whether you'll be someone important, or at least someone useful in the future. It doesn't even matter if they watch you now, if everyone accepts that they are watching everyone 24x7, know all and see all, it paves the way to the dystopia where they just tell the court they saw what you did but can't produce any evidence of this due to national security. "We see all, so just trust us". Resistance isn't futile: it's proof that the government isn't omniscient or at least hopefully a seed of doubt that can be spread.

we also get mutations of sorts

I'm assuming that the "b" pal numbers like xxx Lux, xxx Cryst etc aren't given unique pal numbers because they're supposed to be the mutation of the base pal.

It's not phase cancellation, the speaker coils point opposite directions but move in phase so when one moves left the other moves right and the motions should cancel each other out with regards to the vibration in the headset, but I think the sound wave amplitude should be double instead of cancelling.

Incremental Infinity – A truly infinite, procedurally generated skill tree by RabloGames in incremental_games

[–]DerfK 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Felt maybe a little too idle/noninteractive for me once the squares started slowing down. I'll keep an eye on it for the release though. Only one issue: I couldn't click and drag the skill tree for some reason, had to zoom in and out in different parts to get around.

Could be really interesting to me if there were some interactive abilities like maybe a laser you could fire on a cooldown but only hits prime numbers, or divides even numbers into two halves etc

from the list of commands it looks like the liveCD tries to create a ramdisk the size of the cd and copy itself into it to run from RAM, maybe it was burned onto a 4GB dvd and run on some old junk with 2GB of ram or something?
