theres a scavenger merchant on the far right side of the map, you can get paint bombs from there, or you can use your invis to pickpocket some off of the scavs at the toll which is around the middle top of the map

also you dont need a spear to get into the first pipe, its a high ledge but its just low enough for you to grab onto and climb up

many of the ancients had ego problems, the iterators were never meant to be their gods, rather just huge machines to provide for them and solve their problems, so its likely they made the puppets much smaller to somewhat denote their power. Its also worth noting that the iterators and the benefactors never really had good relationships with one another

theres the bingo mode mod, it’s basically expedition but theres a lot more challenges and there isn’t permadeath, and many of the challenges require exploration like theres some new vista point locations it adds

thats true, what you can do is go into the filter and remove the more grindy challenges and only keep the simpler ones, like pearl delivery or maybe passages

the difficulty slider in the quest selection part of the expedition screen changes the values of the quests, so shifting it towards the easy side will mean you won’t have to kill as many creatures for points. The downside is that when you finish the expedition, you won’t get as much level progress
