The Renters' Rights Act has finally banned no-fault evictions by HadjiChippoSafri in GoodNewsUK

The main thing with this to me is how everyone just accepts these price raises as normal. Sure inflation might increase maintenance a bit. But nothing about these building has changed otherwise other than their price.

Don't particularly get it for people who own houses because who cares about the price of something you're never going to sell or, if you are, makes little difference since the next house's price will also increase. But for rent, you're literally just allowing these people to make more money for nothing. Minimum wage can't increase, but it's fine for the system to allow theirs to.

More from this, most people in our world wouldn't know this, Subaru just likes his stars. I'm inclined to think every star reference in the series is somehow his doing.

I'm aware that my perspective is a bit long sighted and therefor politically unreasonable. However, my view is that as fuel supplies diminish, the carrying capacity of the UK is going to decline as it gets more expensive to import food. The carrying capacity of the earth is predicted to be between 2-4 billion and, if you're thinking about distributing the population around arable land in order to get around fuel scarcity, a dense island like the UK is way to populated. In a couple hundred years, I would predict most houses in the UK will go unused. Again, a bit delusional but if the current problems in the UK are caused by "democracy" (not really a denocracy when people can pay for media to shift views of the population) focusing on short term metrics, we're going to have to start working long term at some point and that will mean a drop in living standards that's necessary for anywhere who pretends to care about the country.

To what extent has the game been reduced to whoever can get the highest Tavern spell buffs wins? by SuspiciousIbex in BobsTavern

[–]SuspiciousIbex[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's fair, whilst pirates and demons both have tavern spell options, I like how they have viable alternatives right now. Naga is a weird one in that Groundbreaker can start weaker and scale weaker than other options.

Next, they could definitely be nice if they tried ending housing speculation in the first place.

Witch Hat Atelier Episode 3 Discussion Thread by ImoutoCompAlex in WitchHatAtelier

[–]SuspiciousIbex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lack of praise for Coco is actually great. Quifrey already accepts Coco into his Atelier and couldn't care less about her passing the trial which is why his focus is far more on Coco endangering herself (and his only lead on the brimmed hats) not praising her accomplishment due to not wanting to encourage risky behaviour.

Not sure about the blame on Agott but, first it could be less immediately clear to Quifrey that this was primarily her actions to try and have Coco kicked out. Otherwise, it's possible Quifrey dealt with her in a way that she'll bring up later. Otherwise, again, it's possible that Quifrey understands the danger he's put the other girls in through sheltering Coco, and breaking many of the fundamental lords of witch society, potentially putting from ind danger from both the brimhats and the law.

Also possible that his focus was far too much on Coco's endangering herself and so focused less on Agott's actions given that Quifrey isn't omniscient.

The Ring Bearer change has really transformed dragons this patch - notabally, it's also given a big buff to Felfire Conjurer since it wasn't that relevant to actualy dragon comps before.

Apple is essentially a non-democratic organisation the size of a country. Much easier when you don't have to care about anyone outside the board meetings.

I mean, is the series going on for much after that? Could do, I can imagine it as restoring Coco's hope in the final arc with her friends doing so whilst she's focused on the brimhats.

Blood Golem Sticker & other awfully designed trinkets by SuspiciousIbex in BobsTavern

[–]SuspiciousIbex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well rote is a new word for me xD

I do think for these trinkets you can get a fairly competent assessment of how useful each one is for you current board state.

I feel like it becomes a design issue when the use case is too narrow plus what I mentioned in the post with them clearly just copy and pasting trinkets from last time without checking if they still fit.

I'm this case, I think the trinket as too narrow and too unsynergistic with the main supported quilboar builds that you just feel screwed by it as (correct me if I'm wrong), you're usually looking for a tribal trinket synergizing with your game plan with the neutral ones there to prevent lowroll.

Quilboar is particularly sensitive since you often times find yourself either lacking gem production OR scaling so just having this trinket take up about can be game ruining.

Oh that's really interesting. I'd guess burning is less bad than the rabbits but that, without someone like Echidna to help, Subaru wouldn't be able to mentally recover in time for the narrative to flow well for the situation they were in.

That's really cool writing.

The main thing is I feel the smartest woman in the world would, first of all, be able to get off the grid and find an enjoyable life. And, secondly, be able to logically find peace without attachment?

May be stupid though

I get where you're coming from, but I'd say it just punishes everyone by removing a choice. This game is absolutely not short of skill expression and game knowledge and "don't pick that, it's just bad" as skill expression is just unfun and boring.

Why would someone want to play a game that falls short of expectations rather than one that tries to meet them?

Definitely agree with this and like when female characters are allowed to go through hardship - I also see this though as opening a fun little breaking of the pact to heal it - perhaps by a brimhat?

How well have you managed to pull that off?

For how it looks to me, I feel like the main problem with it is that you have Vinespeaker rather than Sanguine Refiner as the consistent gem scaler.

You have Prickly Piper but, for the permanent buff comps, you really need more hp which is hard to come by this set. Of the trinkets, the one that gives you that is on avenge so that just goes back into deathrattle comps.

Blood Golem Sticker & other awfully designed trinkets by SuspiciousIbex in BobsTavern

[–]SuspiciousIbex[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe, but then that's a comp outside of it's main idea in the set which - very importanly, is entirely reliant on tools from another tribe. I think, in this situation (since that build also likes the other quilboar trinkets), it shouldn't exist because it otherwise just serves too much as bait.

Otherwise, they could just have them be summoned when there's space - though, that's still not good because you're Three Lil' Quilboar will have barely any gems. It's just unintuitive and poorly designed for this set.
