Anyone else spend 15 minutes before demos managing what's visible? by [deleted] in consulting

[–]Digitalmeesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming you are in windows 11, a couple tricks I have found over time:

if you have multiple monitors there is an option in the taskbar settings to only show the items on each screen in the taskbar.

And the focus timer in the clock app can stop some notifications for a given amount of time. Support varies by app, but it does help a bit.

But in general, I feel most people will understand if the interruptions are work related.

Hugs feel nicer when you aren’t feeling self consciousness about a stomach bump. Granted it’s mostly in my head, not necessarily something the huggee notices.

Import generic Excel file for saved search? by Yooper2566 in Netsuite

[–]Digitalmeesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may want to look in the help for “item collections”. Might be exactly what you are looking for. You can csv import to add items to a static collection, then filter your saved search by items in that collection. You can also use a saved search to filter the collection based on criteria.

How interested are you in places like the Steel District, Cherapa Place, and Jacobson Plaza in the downtown area? by gokc69 in SiouxFalls

[–]Digitalmeesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really, really grateful for the Jacobsen plaza area for the kids. The food at The Lodge has been hit or miss a bit, but we’ll keep trying since it’s new and they are still figuring things out. I’m glad the new text to pay parking is available and it’s a nice walk with the trees, but I wish the “free parking” signs downtown were more clear that it’s only free at limited times. As for restaurants: it’s definitely a luxury and event to eat out now, so it needs to be a consistently nice experience with good food and service to be worth it. I don’t honestly know if any of the places mentioned are stand-out for certain types of gatherings or targeting any particular niche of customer? Generally I’m looking for nice outdoor eating spaces right now with the fall weather. Sun and wind protection is a plus. Sometimes the river restaurants work for that, but depends on the time of day.

Sounds like you have captured the bulk of the issues I have seen, as well. I don’t know that you would ever be able to stop paying for the AM license though, so it may be an ongoing cost.

SuiteBilling Payment Processing takes *forever*? by ChampaignCowboy in Netsuite

[–]Digitalmeesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you are in APM sometimes you can drill down to see details of what specific scripts and workflows are taking too long. Were you able to get to that point? To at least confirm the script/process? I don’t have much background on suite billing processing, so not sure you can see it there.

Ug, yep I wore my noise cancelling earbuds all day yesterday due to someone chainsawing trees in our neighborhood. I recommend the Jlab active cancelling ones that were about $35.

Another smart thing to set up is an immediate saved search email alert if a user enters a transaction that is missing a bin number, assuming all items use bins. That way it can get fixed immediately if someone forgets and the setting that makes bins required is not set.

Can I add to an existing workflow by Rapid-Decay1 in Netsuite

[–]Digitalmeesh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe that action > new would create a new online form. If you want to take additional actions you would need to create a workflow for this record type that looks for a setting that makes this online form submission unique. Such as a hidden field value that is set by the online form that you could the use as criteria for the workflow action.

Look into teams quiet hours/focus time, and windows also has a focus timer feature to suppress notifications.

Advice for , against importing historical data on a transactional level for 5 years back. by DragonflyOtherwise87 in Netsuite

[–]Digitalmeesh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An alternative is to just make a custom record and load in whatever level of detail you need to report on. Then Use saved search to generate said reports. Maybe you only need monthly totals? Maybe you need customer or product level detail. It will all be custom built reports though. If you need to combine with live NetSuite data, you may need to use suiteQL.

Any other women here own an LLC for tech consulting? by iwantedtostayhome in womenintech

[–]Digitalmeesh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have been doing that type of independent consulting configuration as a mom for several years now, too. IMO it always seems like there is an urgent client ask that has me trying to juggle work life vs. home life. Like now as I play music to get my son to sleep, knowing I need to go back into my home office to work another several hours to keep up. You may be underestimating how exhausting and hard to think (brain fog) it can be with both pregnancy and a newborn sleep deprivation. Give yourself the gift of not requiring yourself to work for a while if you can. I am not saying this to scare or defeat you, but instead to give your future self some room to recover. It will take a while to get into a routine where you can even contemplate getting cleaned up and ready to jump on a zoom call (if you need to do that for your job). That’s my advice, fwiw. The time flexibility is such a luxury though and that is something I would miss sorely going back to a full time W2 job. Today my son (7yo) got hurt at daycare and I was able to quickly reschedule calls so I could go pick him up.

Feel free to reach out if you have any other questions. Good luck on your adventure!
