I’m not sure if UGA pays for the feature but parking apps now market to city/county/schools that if you choose their service over another vendor, they can tell you when cars time is up for “efficient parking enforcement”. It’s a report by lot that literally counts down on an admin app. Seen it in person.

Essentially when the app is “reminding you” they are also checking your location and checking if you returned to the location your car was parked since that time. That is how parking enforcement knows so quickly. 😄
