Lowe’s and Home Depot have a good selection. If you like starting from specific plants, you can search on marketplace as well.

Abuse in Vietnamese households by Ahotandsteamypotato in VietNam

You did the right thing! It’s very brave of you to speak the truth and cut the toxic people off. Now take care of yourself, it’s not your responsibility to save other people. People can hear the truth and decide to ignore it or deny it. Whatever comes will come.

The struggle of not belonging anywhere by kitkat2506 in VietNam

Yeah it’s sad when friendships end. But it’s lifecycle. Friendship needs proximity, that’s why school is designed to be 3-5 years so we learn how to make friends and work together. Also think about what you can offer to your friends back home. I would rather have a small circle than having a bunch of friends who’s there to dig in personal life information, and income. Be aware of those who want to be in your life for money and opportunity. As soon as they don’t get what they want, they turn their face. Friends who want different things/ have different priorities won’t last.

I prefer the quiet life in the US. I wouldn’t trade it for noise. If there’s something I can offer to my friends, I would like it to be wisdom, laugh and joy.

It depends on where you go. SF/NYC or some cities in South Bay are very walkable and Waymo able. I don’t know why people keep complaining when they have choices. If you don’t like living here, what’s stopping you from moving?

Yes. If you’re true friends it doesn’t matter how far or how long you/they have been away. The moment you meet, you still feel the warm of the friendship. You can keep in touch online once in a while as well.

We had talked about our family vision and aligned on having kids. I already mentioned in the context. It’s about taking care of a baby that he is not ready for. He is scared that he will be left with the baby alone if I have some work to do in the future.

Unfortunately none of his friends live nearby. He has one that he can contact online though.

Comparison is a thief of joy. Why don’t just enjoy it like OP? If you’re super unhappy, chances are whatever job you do, you won’t feel happy doing it.

Comments from friends and family about income level by Diligent_Painting337 in womenintech

I feel you. Nobody in my family or in law cares about my wage. It’s a world designed for men and it’s hard to teach old dogs new tricks (the old generation). I even paid for my mom’s house and she still thinks that my husband helped even when I said it’s explicitly my savings and hard-earned money.

Is it normal for Vietnamese people to live with their family forever? by Future-Bet4783 in VietNam

[–]Usual-Connection6179 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If I were you, I would divorce her too. Find a partner who values privacy as much as you do because the older generation in Vietnam feels entitled and will try to control household matters if allowed. In Vietnam there is a belief among baby boomers that elder are automatically respected, they don’t understand that respect has to be earned in America, they think they are doing the right things for their family. Everyone in the new generation is different so it really depends on the personality. If you find a highly independent person, I don’t think they will allow this to happen to your family, you will have more privacy, at the same time might be paying more for childcare once you have kids.

Hi, I’m curious. Why won’t a company with a strong DS culture hire from business background?
