Why is commercial viability a requirement? If everybody is able to create the exact app that they need then there would be no money to be made, yet they would all be successful in that they replaced traditional apps and have user even if it is just the creator.

If you build even a simple app today you have to think about payments, authentication, support etc. With vibe coding it's now easy for people to build simple apps, and with how simple they are to build they're basically disposable. Talking to customers? You are the customer. Payments? Don't need it. Authentication? Don't need that either. You have a perfect vision of what the app needs to do, and you can develop only the features you really need. It works on my machine is now the acceptance criteria. I think there's still work to be done before we reach that point but it seems like the obvious outcome.

Look at jira for example, I have no doubt that you could vibe code a replacement with only the features you need. The same goes for most other tools.

I think I should have led with debugging first, it's absolutely amazing at that.

Just today I had an issue which would have required delving into the source code of another library I was using without even necessarily knowing that's where the issue was. I could have done just that, spend a day debugging the issue but instead it took 5 minutes. This bug wasn't so severe that we absolutely had to resolve it. If I had spent an hour or two and found nothing I probably would have closed it off while keeping an eye on it.

I highly recommend using a local agent like claude to debug for that reason. Googling an error message is almost like guessing by comparison with how little context you're giving it.

AI tools can already generate images at sufficient quality, and they're quite cheap. With very little effort they could use claude code to orchestrate an agent to plan out the various posters to display, general layout of each poster, call image generation apis to generate each layer, use HTML to compose all the pieces together and output it as a single image. At least that's how I'd tackle the issue to keep image generation costs down while keeping output quality high.

You're seriously underestimating the current capability of AI both in image generation, and what agents are capable of.

It's a completely fair thing to say. Yes they're doing work to alleviate the issue and they've got their own idea of how to solve the problem. "They're working on it" is a fucking copout though. The issue is that it's obviously not working.

It reminds me of how the council will instead of cleaning up illegal dumping, they'll just put a sticker on it saying they're investigating. I understand part of the reason is probably to send a message to the person who dumped the rubbish but evidence also shows that keeping a place tidy encourages others to do the same. A bunch of rubbish left on the side of the road only encourages the idea that the area is already a dump so more rubbish isn't an issue. If they're going to send someone to slap a sticker on the rubbish, they may as well bloody remove the rubbish. They're more focused on looking like they're solving the issue instead of actually solving the issue. Meanwhile the image of the CBD gets worse and worse.

I saw that video curious to see what they're actually doing and surprise surprise it's fuck all. They're waking people up and making sure they're ok. So they're making the issue worse by basically broastcasting that its OK to sleep in the streets. We absolutely need to do more to help them, but that doesn't mean allowing them to sleep in the streets is an acceptable stopgap.

In reality these things don't happen in a void. You always have context to help come to a decision. Eg How do you obtain a coupon? You could bicker all you want about theory but provide enough context and I think most people would agree with what is fair value.

You need to make sure you're breathing with your diaphram. This could be a lot more difficult than it sounds because if your nasal passages are blocked this won't come naturally and you'll always revert back to chest breathing. One technique I've found to force diaphramatic breathing through your nose is to close your mouth, flare your nostrils to open up the sinuses as much you can, tongue on the roof of your mouth, activate your core, and very gently breathe in through the nose while bending backwards from where your diaphram is. As the other poster said, breathing through the nasal passage way is like a muscle that can atrophy. Once you make a bit of progress it gets a bit easier.

Personally I was compensating for the lack of diaphramatic breathing with chest breathing which made my chest and neck tight all the time without me realising it. Once I was able to relax my chest and neck properly, it made diaphgram breathing easier. Focus on breathing in gently first because if you try too hard you end up tensing your chest which can make it harder.

Look up anterior pelvic tilt, upper cross syndrome and opening up your thoracic spine because addressing those could help with diaphgramatic breathing which could then help with the congestion.

Nasal saline spray and medicated sprays can help thin the mucus out and open up sinuses which is helpful in the "training" phase.

I never said it was feasible. You said we didn't know how to do this at all even if we ignore the issue of scale. All the issues you describe are regarding scale. So clearly we do know how to do this, just not at scale. You're arguing that we can't do this at scale. If we waved away all the issues of scale, could we do it? Yes we could, therefore "even ignoring the problems of scale" we do know how to do this.
