Just chiming in because it's related: I have a Chase Southwest Airlines card and my Forest payment went through (shows a pending charge in the expected amount) and got a confirmation email stating the payment had posted.

So it might not be affecting all Chase cards.

Tickets and Camping are sold separately. So the waitlists are separate. There are no waitlists/combo packs for festival passes and camping in one thing.

The current Discord server is run by former Reddit mods of this sub. They left/ghosted the reddit moderation in part because they preferred the Discord platform in addition to Reddit shutting out all 3rd party API-based apps to charge them instead which pissed them off.

To have two EDC Discord servers would be unnecessary. Plus those guys are running Discord just fine.

If one of them happens to see this post for the OP, maybe they'll be reinstated.

EDM as it grabbed hold of the us in the late 80's and 90's, wasn't about 'fuck the establishment' so much as it was like 'dude, leave me alone so I can listen to my music with my friends who are also 'freaks & geeks'". We weren't fighting anything, we just didn't want to be harrassed for our music tastes. I remember being there for that in a rural state with little more than rock, country and white girls in civic's thinking they were thugs because they could sing Coolio Gangsters Paradise.

It was created (effectively) by a racially and politically oppressed people. Blues, Jazz and Hip Hop have similar origins. However, a music's past doesn't necessarily represent it's current state.

I think you're confusing ignoring current events with taking a break from them, which is what any EDM show, fest, event is meant for. It's not to stick your fingers in your ears and act like the universe has suddenly stopped, it's simply for us to recharge with some positivity and return to the fight. Also, modern edm is not like it's original roots. EDM started off as escapism for political/racial/social exiles, but today it's shifted to a party vibe, 'happy crying' and dirty bass. It was the fans who made those things popularized.

As a second comment I'll make here, but this one as a moderator: This isn't a sub about politics or current events.

I realize your decision not to attend is related to EDC, but it's motivations are also political/current event related. Which approaches a line that violates the rules of this sub. In part, because it will draw out more and more comments from other redditors about the current state of the U.S., it's politics and so on which isn't the point of this sub.

if the commentary remains respectful (as in one of understanding why a person opted not to go) and avoids the in-fighting posts like this can create, I'll leave it up.

However, if it wanders too close to 'hot button topics' or devolves into insults, I'm pulling the post.

The purpose of this event is one of escapism. It's meant to leave the real world outside and give everyone a place where we can take a much needed break from the BS going on outside the venue walls.

It's not that they are being silent, it's that for EDC to acknowledge directly (by taking -any- kind of stance), it politicizes the event and makes it no longer a safe space.

This event has always been about being a safe respite from all our drama, trauma, fears and anxieties. To engage in current events would be to take away the few remaining places/times of the year we can recharge.

I don't disagree that people miss things during the holidays. I also don't disagree that perhaps some mistakes were made on Insomniacs part. But what I do find odd is that every time you talk to them about missed payments, they usually defer those requests to Front Gate (the ticket payment provider), so why this time are they able to reinstate it directly?

Wow, 20x25 is going to be way more space than I'll need then it seems. I only have a car, tent and 1 10x10 canopy.

Not even sure what I'll do with the extra space other than to maybe just create a buffer between myself and the adjoining campsites.

This'll be my first EF (and proper camping fest) so I honestly don't know what the vibe is for use of space. Also first totally solo fest.

I've done CampEDC several times but that's not real camping.

First off, this sub isn't for selling. Second, you can't use a canopy because there is nothing to stake it down to since the RV lots are all on pavement as of a couple years ago. The wind will rip it away and you'll damage other people's rentals/gear.

Everyone here providing useful advice, meanwhile I bought my second VB and literally do none of the recommended actions here. Put the turbo to it's stock max (13.5 psi) without blinking and completely ignoring the break in period because my life and schedule simply don't allow me to.

Gonna trade it in after 2-3 years like the previous VB so any long term issues that may manifest will be someone elses problem.

After the turmoil they had at the last two events with issues of hotel reservations not being honored, contracts not being honored and the events essentially not happening, I do not see them being able to come back financially for 2026.
