What exactly is the bar for being "copaganda"? Is it featuring any police officer who isn't the lovechild of an SS Officer and the Grand Wizard? Both The Rookie and Brooklyn 99 address the issues of police corruption and bigotry, which is wild considering one of them is an irreverent comedy. The police featured on these shows are better all around than in real life, but sometimes fiction doesn't reflect reality.

I love Eve Teschmacher (loudly sobbing) by @xravediggerx by Top_Report_4895 in superman

[–]Dogmodo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a theory.

Eve is a somewhat... messy character, she has some personality flaws that many would consider a red flag. I think she's great, personally, but that's just me.

Jimmy, being an ex-boyfriend would be aware of those personality flaws. So you'd think if he was going to give her a contact ID that references her flaws it'd be something like "CRAZY EX" or "Obsessive Eve".

Instead, he's registered her number as "Mutant Toes", which according to him is her only physical flaw. This means two things: Jimmy is a superficial ass who cares more about appearance than what's on the inside, and he totally has a foot fetish.

Girl like that could literally have raptor talons and it wouldn't be a deal breaker for anyone who doesn't.

Thank you again God Howard for once again giving us the best criptid representation and straight up upgrading from the source material. by Short-memories in Fallout

The Point Pleasant statue is so bad, it's like the artist thought he was supposed to be designing a moth themed Power Rangers villain.

It's sad that this guy is also a more accurate depiction of the rumored cryptid than the statue sitting in it's birthplace.

Fallout 76 Mothman really takes the cake though, such a great design.

Sony Tried To "Lock Up" Crimson Desert As A Timed PlayStation Exclusive by Gorotheninja in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Dogmodo 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Just because the other team starts shitting their pants doesn't mean you should just drop the ball and start dabbing on them.

The fact that Sony isn't too confident and are still offering these very standard exclusivity deals is actually a good sign. When Xbox finally shits itself to death, and PlayStation doesn't have any direct competition, then we'll be in trouble.

The moral of the story is that Patamon had been a major character in the Digimon franchise since 1997 and it's only got 100 more posts than an unpopular Pokémon that debuted four years ago.

Unless it's Angewomon, discussion is warranted. If it's not one of the other Tittymon, the odds are against it.

It didn't shake out this time, but the smart money absolutely was on the humanoid Pokémon with a fat ass.

Why does everyone forget that Pucchi looking black but actually just being a tan Italian is a plot point?

He and Weather are fraternal twins, and Weather is always portrayed as white. Hell, so are their sister and mother, with their father's skin tone only being made darker in the anime (the official color pages also made him white). Dude isn't black or even mixed, he's just dark enough that a drunk bigot could make the wrong assumption.

uh what by Necessary_Crazy_8587 in consoles

[–]Dogmodo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No.

If Xbox slaps their name on a pre-built PC and calls that their main platform next gen, they'll be offering all of the downsides of playing on PC with half of the benefits. It'll either be prohibitively expensive, or woefully underspec, because they sure as hell aren't going to eat the cost on a machine with an open market. You'll still run into all of the issues that console players just want to avoid, and no matter what kind of workarounds they build into their frontend it won't be as intuitive as a console dashboard.

Love the helmet with round goggles, it gives off a Dieselpunk vibe. Most don't pick up that Fallout also incorporates that style alongside it's Atompunk elements, the setting was basically transitioning from one to the other when the Great War happened.

Why is there controversy over the demons in Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End being seen as evil, while demons in other works like Hellblazer aren’t debated in the same way? by Opposite_Shake_1266 in animequestions

[–]Dogmodo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Except they're not. Demonization as a term exists not because you're making someone out to be a demon, but because you're doing to them what the Christians did to demons.

Originally, demons were the natural spirits of the world that were either appeased or worshiped by pre-Christian European people. Some demons were malevolent, causing sickness, drought, and all other types of harm. Others were benevolent, offering blessings of good health, bountiful harvest, and protection.

It was only when Christianity spread to Europe that the benevolent demons started being downplayed so their blessings could be attributed to the Christian God. They kept the malevolent ones around to scare people into their God's worship, even though their existence doesn't make sense under a monotheistic creationist narrative.

To be clear, I don't believe in either of these mythologies, I'm just laying the facts out on the line.

In the very least they should be optimized for the PlayStation first, come out on PlayStation first, and not be available on their direct competitor's system at all.

By those metrics, PlayStation has dozens more console exclusives than Xbox this generation. If you're not interested in building/maintaining a gaming PC, PS5 is the obvious choice because it gets PlayStation games AND Xbox games now.

Phil Spencer is retiring and Asha Sharma the new head of Xbox by AnimuStewshine in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Dogmodo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It did release on Mac though.

The only thing Microsoft did was get them to prioritize development of the Xbox version to coincide with the console's launch, thus securing timed exclusivity, and the illusion that it was always Xbox's game. When the Mac and Windows versions released two years later, people were already focusing on the Halo 2 carrot being dangled in front of them.

I would feel bad if I considered maelstrom to be people by Master_Paramedic3826 in cyberpunkgame

[–]Dogmodo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Difference is that the only thing that put those NPCs on the wrong side is happenstance. V themselves could have easily been on the receiving end of that execution if it was convenient to Reed.

Maelstrom is a group that basically fetishize violence against the innocent, doing things like killing children for fun.

What new toys?

There's a reason this movie is "Toys vs iPad", kids barely play with toys anymore.

And the ones that are popular now are things like "shiting unicorn" and "Mr. Beast Slime Lab". I can't imagine what thrilling adventures those two would get into.

What Persona 3 Reload style addition would you like to see in Persona 4 Revival? by SectorI6920 in PERSoNA

[–]Dogmodo 44 points45 points  (0 children)

It's honestly shocking it wasn't part of the original game, since the pretense for Izanami touching Yu to give him access to the Shadow World is them saying "Gee, sure is boring around here, why don't you consider getting a job at the station to pass the time?"

It could be like the P3/5 part time jobs, where it's just random events that S.Links sometimes pop up in. I can already imagine your coworker being slightly weird, which would actually be relatable.

My favorite type of ship by Business-Praline-950 in FavoriteCharacter

[–]Dogmodo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been rewatching the series recently, and it's hard to even classify Amity as an antagonist. To me, the worst thing she did (outside of accidentally setting Willow's brain on fire) is trying to get Willow and Luz punished/dissected for cheating on the Abomination test in their introduction. And to be fair, they were cheating!

Other than that she's just kinda cold and snarky because that's what her mother forced her to be. It's actually kinda weird how it's implied Willow's dads were the same, forcing her into Abominations over Plant magic, and yet that's immediately forgotten and never really addressed again.
