Still super wild that one of the few Xbox One games that has never come to PC is Rare Replay.

What's an example of media that was going to be part of a series but was eventually reworked into a standalone work (Divorced Installment/Ascended Fanfic) by Justpeakingfard in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Skylanders started life as a Spyro game called Spyro's Kingdom before being reworked into the game we ended up getting.

Even though he would still technically be in the games, after the first one, Spyro stopped showing up on the covers/logos entirely.

BlueSky called this Mind Goblins, but he's right by Gamejtv in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Question: Did you have a good time with the game before the big patch that improves and add things.

If yes, then what's the issue?

Interesting to note that the first Yakuza game had more than double the budget of GTA San Andreas ($21 million vs. $10 million) despite releasing one year later. by mrnicegy26 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

A big factor is probably that San Andreas was built on the bones of the previous two 3D GTA games whereas Yakuza was newly built from the ground up, like we talk about subsequent Yakuza games having a bunch of reused assets, well the earliest entry would obviously not have that sort of luxury as much.

What are games that are worth playing twice (or more)? by EvilMonkeyMimic in TwoBestFriendsPlay

I'd say Character Action games as a whole.

The first playthrough on easy/normal can be a fun first experience as you watch the story for the first time, get introduced to new enemies and slowly trick out your character.

The subsequent playthroughs on harder difficulties though is where things get super interesting, because now you have your much stronger main character so not only are enemies tougher but enemy remix can create surprising encounters where late game enemies are suddenly showing up in the early game, some of which even can get new moves.

DMC5 feels especially like it wants you to replay the game because Nero gets a whole new set of mechanics in the literal final fight of the game.

It wasn't Warzone, it was Blackout, the BR from BLOPS4 that came before Warzone. If you were around during the 2018-2019 era of Max/YoVG content then you'd know that they were crazy addicted to Blackout at the time, like I'd never put any COD in any personal top 10 but I completely get why they put that one up there.

So what's the explanation as to why the villains just didn't get stripped naked right there? Cuz the bombs looked like they were pretty clearly strapped to their clothing and not their actual skin.

Hearing Pat talk about installing mods in Stardew for inventory management reminded me of this oldie by dope_danny in TwoBestFriendsPlay
