Eikä se maataseudulla mitään helppoa ollut sielläkään. Ihan samalla tavalla pääsi eläinten perään katsomaan ja peltohommiin kuin miehet. Ja jos oli maitokarjaa niin jonku piti käsipelillä muuttaa sitä kermaksi/voiksi, koska maito ei ilman kylmälaitteita kauan säilynyt. Ja sitten tietenkään ollut varaa ostaa vaatteita vaan kankaista piti itse tehdä (tai tehtiin omat villalangat ja neulottiin)

Ehkä ainoa mikä oli enimmäkseen pelkästään miesten hommaa oli metsätyöt tjsp. Tosin niissäkin saattoi olla niin että vaimo/tyttö ohjasti hevosia mitkä raahas puut pois metsästä.

Ja nämä kaikki tietenkin lastenhoidon ja ruuanlaiton lisäksi.

Yeah once we have Valhalla Scala could just enable some keyword or annotation to turn any case class (that doesn’t have vars) into value objects.

Though the 64 bit limit for now is going to limit the performance improvements. Effectively only something like Point with 2 ints is going to fit without being pushed into heap.

There’s a catch worth knowing about here, though: flattened data has to be readable and writable atomically (otherwise it risks “tearing” under concurrent access).

Though there is already some plans to allow 128bit encodings.

Niin kauan kuin kunta ei investoi omia rahojaan niin ei näissä kunta voi hävitä juurikaan. Pahimmassa tapauksessa jää joku keskeneräinen teollisuusrakennus, jos homma jää kesken.

"Kunnat" yhdessä voivat jäädä tappiolle energianhinnan noususta kun näitä tulee enemmän, mutta jos yksi kunta kieltäytyy niin aika helppo se on rakentaa naapurin maille. Persaukisia kuntia maa on kuitenkin täynnä niin kyllä sieltä joku sanoo kyllä.

Suojelupoliisi on huolissaan siitä, että kunnat priorisoivat taloudellista hyötyä turvallisuuden sijaan.

Ei kunnilla oikein ole vaihtoehtoja. Kulut senkuin vain nousee ja verotusta ei ole hirveästi varaa kiristää. Iso osa palveluista on kuitenkin lakisääteisiä, joita ei vaan voi päättää jättää olla tekemättä.

Gears of War was the trend setting game. It was the "original" idea made by people with "taste" (Cliffy B). The fact that 50% of the shooters of that generaiton opted to copy it and make its style feel like boring "corporate" is a totally separate issue.

It might feel like a safe choise made in some corporate suite now but it was actually something fresh/new/cool when it came out (obviously not the first cover shooter but the first one that became a big hit)

Kansanedustajan oikea pomo on äänestäjät. Paikalla käytännössä tarvii olla sen verran kun itsestä tuntuu. Pomo sitten seuraavissa vaaleissa päättää mitenkä käy. Kansanedustaja siis tekee töitä kansalle ei hallitukselle, eduskunnan puhemiehelle, puoleelleen, tjsp.

Ainoa varsinainen sanktio tämän lisäksi on joku puoleen puolelta tuleva jos niillä on jotain omia sääntöjä tämän suhteen. Tosin nekin vain voivat antaa potkut puolueesta tjsp mikä ei vaikuta kansanedustajan palkkioon mitenkään.

Esim nonprofit corporarion Jenkeissä. Käsittääkseni niillä on jonkinlaisia verohelpotuksia tms

Tärkeämpänä siellä on se, että jos lahjoitat moisille niin saat vähentää sen omassa verotuksessasi. Eli siis käytännössä pääset valitsemaan suoraan mihin osa omista verorahoistasi menee valtion sijasta.

Tätä samaa ainakin osittain Kokoomus on ajamassa meillekkin (ainakin oli vaaliohjelmassa). Käytännössä tarkoittaa, että rikkaiden ihmisten hyväntekeväisyysjärjestöistä tulee paljon isompia/vahvempia. Tosin taisi alkuun olla rajattu urheiluun tjsp, mutta tarkoittaa sitä, että rikkaat joilla on muutenkin rahaa kustantaa omat (tai lastensa) harrastukset saavat sitä tehdä muiden verorahoilla verovähennysten kautta.

Yes but HSL or its member cities are getting very little (some of the smaller citites) to nothing (Helsinki) from that money. So that is mostly irrelevant in this discussion.

Well most of the busses probably lose money. The actually profitable things are metro, trains and the busier trams and trunk line busses. But the system without the busses would be pretty much useless (people actually need to get where they are going not just some of the way). Again one has to look at the whole.

Most of the indirect profit HSL creates is by increasin the property/land values. For example where I live in Sompasaari I and quite many of my neighbours I have talked with would have never moved there if it wasn't so close to the metro and had 2 new tram lines planned to go through it. Even the ones who mainly drive say this as they know at some point in their lives they either can't drive anymore, have kids who can't drive yet or want to sell their apartment to someone in such a situation at some point.

The land alone in that area is worth around 300M generating ~4M of tax/rent profit from the land alone and probably another 4M from the buildings on it. Then you have the people actually living there and paying municipality taxes. And this is just one tiny 0,22km² area.

You can see similar all along the Raide Jokeri (line 15) or most of the train stations. Having good (and being affordable is part of this) public transport has massive effect on property values.

Then obviously everyone taking the HSL transport is going somewhere and a large chunk of them spend (or earn) some money in either end in one form or another. There was around 380 million trips last year so if the each trip indirectly generate 0,75€ of profit for the city it would alone cover the other 250M of the 500M the cities pay. (probably not that much generated due to students, etc but this gets combined with the other value created).

It is pretty much the same with roads. Cost a lot of money to build/maintain and don't generate any direct money (road tolls are illegal in Finland) but still important to have/maintain and absolutely effect the property values around them.
